I'm going in for my glucose test (they do the 2 hour at my practice) in a few minutes. I totally forgot about it last night, and we ate out and had gelato after dinner. Whoops! Not my normal dinner.
I just drank the glucose drink and now I'm waiting for my midwife. Have to get my blood drawn for the next couple hours. I'm trying not to throw up. Blech!
Just finished with a growth scan and appointment with my OB. Everything looks good. Both boys are measuring on track. One is 2 pounds 1 ounce and the other is 2 pounds 2 ounces. Right now (26 weeks) they are both breech. If they stay this way, my OB said he won't let me try to do a regular delivery and we will have to go straight to a c-section. I am fine with that. He did mention that 26 weeks is still early and the babies may move. After 30 weeks, twins typically won't change positions much due to being in a confined space, but we'll see. He also said my hemoglobin is a bit low and put me on an iron supplement. Cervical length was 3.96 and it is closed, so that's good too. We go back for two weeks for another appointment with the OB and in four weeks we will have another growth scan.
Good luck to all of the other ladies with appointments today!
I did my GTT today. It wasn't as bad as I thought. It tasted like the high-C drink at Mcdonalds only 10x more sugary. Not good but not bad. It also didn't have any affect on me. I felt normal besides baby girl moving a little more. Hopefully I pass!
Had my glucose test this morning. My mom was with me and she said the drinks have improved a lot since she was pregnant with me, mine didn't taste bad at all. I was definitely jittery afterwards and glad when my hour was up so I could go eat! Now to just wait for the results.
Just got the blood drawn for my glucose test and got some amazing pics of little girl when they were checking the placenta. It has moved far enough away from the cervix now. But I think I am going to start getting on the scale backwards
Had my check up after my blood pressure meds were upped last week. I was down from 150-160/90 to 139/85 so a huge improvement! Very happy with that.
The bad news was that after scanning my glucose levels from the past week (I have been sticking myself 4x a day in anticipation of a formal diagnosis) they officially diagnosed me with GD. BUT the upside is that the doctor said I can just skip the 3 hour screening, because with my glucose log they already know I would fail. My numbers after meals aren't terrible because I am following the diet, but all of my fasting ones were higher than normal.
Hopefully the other doctors in the practice agree with me skipping the 3 hour. The doc said he needed to bring it up at the high risk rounds and make sure everyone was okay with that. I am not happy about having GD, but could totally deal without having to sit through that 3 hour for nothing... FX!
My follow up ultrasound went well. Thankfully, LO cooperated so the tech was able to get all the shots she needed. Baby girl is measuring right on schedule, weighs 1lb 9oz and had a HR of 155. I can't seem to attach the pic on mobile right now for sone reason... boo.
Had my appt today and it was great. C-section is scheduled for June 6th D Day!!!! Baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead I guess but all my stats are good and we are both healthy. Apparently I have a 'long cervix' which is a good thing. The doctor thinks there is a strong chance the baby may run out of room and decide to come in May but if/when that happens they will get me in for an emergency C section. Let's hope he hangs in there till June 6th! On the way out the doctor said 'and just one piece of advice - don't buy any newborn clothes' LOL
