That moment when I have to admit that I cannot go to the grocery store alone anymore, my back hurts, having braxton hicks contractions, and I it hurt to lift anything......
Just very sad, I'm so independent and I just can't anymore.
Sorry you're at the miserable stage. It sucks! I gave in to a less evil loss of independenve and have decided to get a pedicure every couple weeks since it's a PITA to reach my toes.
I can't get out of bed to pee in the middle of the night alone any more so embarrased I have to wake my husband up to help me but I'm bigger this time then when I delivered DS1. We are at the tail end though soon we will be just as independant as before
I went to the grocery store for just a few things the other day and just came home from Kohl's with DH a few mins ago. I realized I've reached that point too Hope you feel better! Oh and I'm also in the boat of either getting pedicures done or having DH paint my toes. I could barely clip them last week! haha

Funny that you posted this. I went food shopping about an hour ago and I almost passed out. I am seriously concerned. I have 9 more weeks left of this.

Wow, maybe I'm just lucky in my pregnancy but I don't get not being able to go to the grocery store or get out of bed without help. Sure, I avoid lifting anything too heavy, but it's usually pretty easy to pack grocery bags so they're a manageable weight.
I totallyyyyyy feel ya! I've been trying too hard to be 'super woman' so when evening time comes , I'm typically in tears bc my back, neck and pelvis is KILLING me.
I feel this coming my way also. I'm generally ok for awhile while out and about and then it just hits me. I also am to the point of not being able to clip my toenails any longer without it takin forever and hurting.
I went about 2 weeks ago and got a lot and boy was that a mistake. It took twice as long and by the time I put everything away, I was exhausted. Went tonight with DH... Much better
My feet are the worst. I waddle just from the pain in my feet and back. It can't even stand up straight. And on top of that I am also struggling with BH now whenever I'm active

Anyway, I found it borderline amusing when I was walking back to my car the other day and I was going so slow that I was being overtaken by the elderly.

I am hoping to stay active. It makes me feel better. I walk dogs and I am a full time college student. I am going at this alone and my doctor said the more active I stay the better off I am. Stairs take me a little longer, but I bought a support belt and it helps a lot. So hoping I can make it until the end.

@amroke You don't get that for some women, the lower back and hip pain can make just walking around the store excruciating? Lifting the bags is the least of my worries on days like that.
Empathy. Try it sometime.
@awc1986 I got honked at about a month ago for being too slow when rerurning my cart!
I feel you on this. I have still been going alone (DH works a lot of weekends so I have to), so I always use a cart instead of a basket, even if the amount of items is small, and then make several small trips bringing in the groceries. This all helps but still causes some back pain and BH. I may resort to Peapod more...have you tried something like that? Expensive but no going to the store or lifting involved!
Luckily, my RLP has much improved over the past 2 weeks (which I had expected to only get worse until delivery), but I feel so huge I can literally barely tie my shoes, it hurts. I can't wait until it warms up just a little bit and I can wear flip flops! It will be SO much easier. I am also exhausted by the time I am done running errands, ugh..

Oh, you must be doing crossfit, right?
No, seriously, you're in your third trimester. I'm assuming at this point you've heard of SPD, sciatic nerve pain, pelvic pressure, etc. I myself have a lovely inguinal hernia. So that is great that you are a pregnant unicorn and don't "get" other women being in pain, or how frustrating it can be to struggle to complete day to day tasks.
Obviously @amroke hasn't experienced the joy of being an awkward turtle and flapping your arms until someone helps you up off the sofa, because the sciatic nerve in your butt cheek stops you bending the right way to achieve vertical status.

I'm in a second floor apartment so I started taking DH about a month ago mostly because I didn't want to carry 2 weeks worth of groceries up a flight of stairs alone, it's about 6 trips if I'm alone and that's carrying way too many bags at once.
He goes with me to shop and very nicely offers to pickup anything I drop (anyone else have the dropsies/butterfingers syndrome going on?). Plus He carries all but the one load of groceries I carry up the steps, while I put away the bounty. 100% not sorry or sad to have a tad bit of help, I do the bulk of the chores and make 90% of our food (his meals are take-out duty).
Forget the grocery store or shopping... I'm thinking about just giving up walking in general! I want to find an adult sized stroller and just have DH roll me around.

Being able to lift a bag of groceries and get out of bed on one's own at 28-32 weeks pregnant is the norm. I am not a "unicorn." If you cannot do these things because you have a particularly difficult pregnancy then I'm very sorry.

Is it really, though? From what I can gather..."norms" go out the window with pregnancy because every person's experiences and symptoms are completely different.
Preggo discomfort is the worst. I go grocery shopping every Monday with my 2 year old and I dread it. It takes forever and all I want to do when I am done is take a nap not put groceries away. My vericose veins are killing me after wandering around for 1.5 hours. Plus-I always have to remind the grocery store clerks not to fill my bags so full they weigh like 20 pounds! What the heck!! Use more bags, don't put three juices and a sack of flour in one bag!
Obviously @amroke hasn't experienced the joy of being an awkward turtle and flapping your arms until someone helps you up off the sofa, because the sciatic nerve in your butt cheek stops you bending the right way to achieve vertical status.
My DH knows when I yell "Turtle Down" it means I'm stuck on the couch and can't get up. OP sorry to hear you've reached that point of pain and discomfort. I'm there with you, if I go to the market I just pick up some items, trying to do a full bore shopping trip is out of the question. Last time I was at costco, I had to use the cart like a walker and lean on it as I was walking from the store to my car. It was so much work. Got home had DH take in the items as I went to go lay down. Bleh, I too miss the independance.

I feel you! I'm in the same boat. It is so frustrating. I'm stubborn as shit and keep over doing it and then I'm kicking myself (yea right I can barely put pants on).

DH has actually started calling me Turtle. Or Turt, and I think it's because it sounds like turd.

I still find it funny how long it takes me to change sides while sleeping. It's like trying to parallel park.
This couldn't be more true! Especially with my ridiculous pillow configuration I have going on, and the 8 lb dachshund shoved into my side. Every time I get up in the night to pee, or even just to roll over, I make an audible "hgggggh" as I hoist myself where I need to go, and this is more difficult literally by the day. I'm going to have to sleep sitting up by 38 weeks I think to avoid the whole thing. Haha

Haha yeah! I have like 4 pillows, a sweaty snoring husband and a 70 lb dog that things he's 7 lbs. every time I need to get up or turn over it's like I have to chant "I think I can, I think I can".
@lauralou3x3 & @bootsie327 After a few nights of the situations you described, I decided to ditch hubs & dog for the night & sleep in the guest room by myself. Well, me and my pillow nest. It was so nice.
I kick myself every night that we didn't have the foresight to buy a king size bed a couple years ago.

I actually got to the point yesterday, everyone was passing me and I must have looked pathetic because they opened a lane just for me to come over and check out.
The ice was also so thick near my car that I parked the cart farther away and walked my groceries to my car because I couldn't move the car over the ice......

My husband now helps me roll over at night, he just puts his arms out and helps me roll over because I get so stuck I can't move.
I also feel bad because I can't bend over and pick stuff up in my classroom. Today I had to fix one of my students' wheelchair and I was so terrified I'd get stuck on the floor....took me a while but I used his chair to help me up.
