I'm gonna do it for a few more days while I'm still sick but by the end of the weekend I suspect I will be! Eta: however, now that J is sick, I guess antibodies are pointless so yeah maybe tomorrow is it!

I have somewhat of a problem. I haven't nursed since yesterday morning and am getting rather full, but I have to go bathing suit shopping tonight! I'm not sure how to evaluate the fit of a bikini top right now...

I think I'm actually going to wait until tomorrow. I'm planning to nurse in the morning (and hoping it's the last time!) so then I'll be more normal in the afternoon. I leak more when I'm engorged and I was worried about leaking when I'm trying them on! I'll often leak through my bra but a pad would make the fit test even more wonky!

Hi all!! Im from July 13 :-). I want to start weaning as well and have absolutely no clue. Ava is 8 months and takes formula fine when I'm at work but the minute I walk in she is all about the boobage. Me giving her a bottle is like a joke her. Do I cut her off or just keep trying? I feel hopeless lol

24 hours between pumps! Starting tomorrow, only pumping as needed to relieve major engorgement.

I think I'm done! Yesterday morning was the last time I nursed (and that was 48 hrs from the time before that) and I was just slightly full. I'm thinking in dried up now. Here's hoping!

Why is it babies insist on not feeling good at the very end of weaning ( @kelly422‌ ) Ty slept miserably and cried the entire 5 minutes while I warmed a bottle of breast milk that could have easily been my boob...and now he's leaving 2.5 oz in the bottle...

This is the first day I will only be doing nighttime nursing...it's 10:00 am and I am leaking...WTH...I don't even have my pump at work with me...it's going to be a long day

@WasNotWas I was like that the first time I dropped any of the last few feedings (when I went down to one a day, then every 36 hrs, then every 48 hrs) but it only took a day or so for my body to regulate. Once I got down to once a day my supply started dropping pretty quickly.

Can you all cross your fingers for me that I get my first period soon or either wait awhile? I'm pretty sure I've ovulated a little while ago - I think - so I'm expected it any day now. But we're headed to the beach this weekend and we'll be out of town for a full week and I really don't want to deal with it at all then! So I either need it to start asap or wait a couple of weeks!

No!!! haha. I mean, if it came down to that I would. But I've been saying for awhile now that I don't want to get pregnant while MH is in school but I REALLY don't want to get pregnant before my beach vacay! I've been dreaming about this vacation, sipping margaritas on a beach chair, since I first got pregnant with N!

Oh this is going to be a long day. Going on 28 hours without pumping and they're starting to get tingly and feel really full! I purposely didn't even bring my pump with me so I wouldn't be "tempted" to pump

I caved and nursed Ty...it's so hard when he is so pathetic with his sickness...we have a doc appointment at 3:45, so hopefully he will get enough meds in his system so that tonight is manageable and tomorrow I can get some work done

Y'all, I think I have a plugged duct

. Things were going so well and I'm still not engorged but I have that lump that I know so well. I'll see what happens while I sleep tonight but I might nurse her in the morning if it looks like my fears are confirmed. Hopefully THAT will be the last time. We're going out of town without the baby on Sat so I have to be done done by then!

I need to vent a little more. How appropriate would it be to end on a plugged duct note? I should have known it was too good to be true to end so well. After the hell plugged ducts put me through, I felt so satisfied to end on my terms. I should have known they would want a last laugh.

Pardon me while I go down memory lane. It's making me go back and remember everything I went through. I decided to try to tally it up. I probably got about 50-60 plugged ducts while I was Breastfeeding N. I tried everything, absolutely everything anyone said to try. The only thing that got them down to one or two a week was a drastic diet change and dangle feeding every single time I nursed, as well as taking heaping tablespoons of nasty lecithin granules daily. And I still got one or two a week. There were two months when I hadn't figured out my regimen of how to best avoid and how to best deal with them that were truly hell. My boobs were constantly painful bricks and there were several days that I took multiple hot showers in attempts to get rid of the plugs.

I just need to cry right now. My mom got an abscess when weaning my brother and given my history I've been terrified of that happening to me too. So I know I can't ignore it. But I have to stop for good soon.

Plugs don't always turn into infection so it's possible it will eventually go away on its own!

@libberluru‌ I've been sweating so much at night and have had trouble sleeping. I just put two and two together yesterday and realized it's probably my hormones! I feel like I'm going through menopause or something!

Thanks! I think the plug went away over night! I'm still full but hoping it will go away soon. But at least it looks like I can avoid nursing this morning!

I woke up this morning for my 4am pumping and had the realization that I have 9 more days of this. 9 MORE!!!! Then I will be down to 2 pumps and morning and night feedings. I know I am doing this slower than most of you but I am pretty excited to sleep again!

@libberluru‌ (and anyone else done weaning), how long after the last time you pumped/nursed did it take for engorgement to go away. I know you still leaked some later, but when did your boobs quit feeling sore and go down to a normal size?

Just hoping my vacation will be normal next week! Last time I nursed was Sat and they just started getting engorged yesterday. Still full and sore today, although not terrible.
