Years ago DH and I picked out boy names - most are family names: Ethan, Liam, Oliver, Everett. It sounds like these have all become popular in the 15 years since we originally selected them. I can't tell if I'm happy that these names aren't considered out of place or if I'm disappointed that they are becoming mainstream. I suppose with the new hormones I'm cooking up, I'll fabricate more emotional options than just those two as time progresses. Girl names were tough for us. I can't think of any that please me right now.
I love baby names. Looove them. I have an obsession. I'm still in too much shock that I am pregnant to be thinking of names, and for some reason I am not in love with any of the names I did just weeks ago.
We didnt find out what we were having with my first pregnancy, so we had a boy and girl name picked out. We won't find out this time either, so we will have one of each ready. If we have a girl this time, it will probably be Charlotte (or Eleanor). I don't know about boys names yet.
We've narrowed it down to a couple of boy names we love, but girl names are a struggle! We can't seem to agree on anything, and hubby hasn't been sold on any.
we have not talked about it yet but i really like the name Darcy for either a boy or girl. He was a character in one of my fav books and well Harley is is part of my gaming name and i have always loved it
If we have a little girl DH and I have agreed on Audrey. No, it's not just because I'm in love with everything Audrey Hepburn, It's also a family name on both sides. Now when it comes to a boy I have absolutely no clue. So far I have Parker or Jacob on a list...but I'm really not feeling either one of those yet.
We like Bennett Drew for a boy, but we have a long list of others (Deacon, Everett, Felix, Wyatt). For a girl we are leaning toward Clara Joy, but have lots of others there as well. (Eden, Evelyn, Nola)
Girl: Kassidy (I have ALWAYS said I was going to name my girl this even when I was little). Charlotte, Diane (after DH's sister who passed) are cute too!
We have a DD Clementine and DS Gilbert and a loooong list left over from naming them, so if LO is a girl, she'll be Beatrice and if a boy, he'll be Leonard (Leo).
If it's a girl it will most likely be Lola Mae and if it's a boy it will be Kashtyn Edwin. We figure they both fit in nicely with big brothers Kyan and Kacyn
We want to be surprised at birth for our first. But we, or rather I haha, have names picked out already. Eldon James for a boy (eldon was my father's name, RIP, and James is my husband's father's name) and Lucie (still not sure of spelling or middle name yet) to continue the tradition of names having to do with light on my maternal side. (Mother is Dawn, grandmother is Iris)
DH and I were just laying in bed discussing this!! We are in agreement on some. I love Hannah for a girl and he likes Harley. For boys we like David or Logan. I am sure we will be adding lots to the list over time!
I'm partial to this one. It is DS's name. It is a good strong name.
We picked out names almost as soon as we found out we were expecting - we had been talking about them for almost a year though, so it wasn't really difficult to do.
Casimir Rex - Yes it is a bit weird but we like it and would call him Cas.
Charlotte Rae - We would probably call her Charlie, because DH has a hard time pronouncing Charlotte (it comes out as Charla) but we both think the name is so pretty and feminine.
We like the name Luna for a girl too but Charlotte made us happier.
With my first, our left over girl name is Reagan...I'm not 100% sure that I still love it, we will see. I liked Grant for another boy...still not completely sold this time around...so..back to square one?

I know everyone but maybe two people on the whole of the bump are gonna hate these names, and that's okay. Flame away!
My two year old son is Elkanah Brave, he goes by Elk. My boy name is Berahkiah Scout, nn Bear. My girl name is Swanilde, not 100% on a middle name yet.

Can I ask what the inspiration behind them is?
I have an extremely obscure Nordic name and I love it. Obviously there are drawbacks to being the only person with my name, but mostly I love it. My husband wants a "bear" to go with our "elk" if it's a boy. Both Berahkiah and Elkanah are Hewbrew names.
If we have a girl I love the name Swanilde, a variation on a name I came across when reading the Icelandic sagas and old German mythology. It's similar to Elkanah, I think, in that it has an animal name buried in the first few letters but you don't pronounce it that way. In German mythology Svanhild is the most beautiful woman alive. It means "Battle Swan".
I live in an urban area on the west coast and unusual names are the norm here.
Baby names are soooo hard!! Especially boy names!!
Girl- Charlotte Lucielle or Lucy (or Lucielle) Claire - we would call her Lucy either way
Boy- Maxwell Lincoln (but our first son's name is Holden Kennedy and then it would sound like we name our kids after assassinated presidents.... Dh likes Oliver Harrison, but my pregnant sister already called dibs.
Hubs loves Pallaton/Paladin for a boy. I'm not sure how I feel about naming a child after characters/songs, but it's growing on me... maybe...Thoughts? Girl will be Frankie. We decided that by accident waaaaay before we even dreamed we'd be here! Still sticking.
We've decided to stick with family names. The hard part will be choosing which one(s) to use. (I have a sneaky suspicion there's possibly more than one growing in there - find out next week). I came up with all but one way before we even thought about trying.
If it's a girl: Coralynn Marie Hiley Pearl
If it's a boy: William Randall Levi Todd Raylen Mac
