Biting

Not sure if this has been discussed. I looked back two pages but didn't see anything. LO has taken to biting me when nursing. I've tried the "loud ouch!" I saw suggested on kellymom. He just looks at me and laughs.
It's making me want to pump more and/or stop nursing altogether. Really I was hoping to make it a year tho
Any suggestions?

Re: Biting

  • I bite her back.

In all seriousness, I have just been gently unlatching her and then setting her down for a minute or two before resuming nursing. She usually only does it 1 or 2 times a day. She also has no teeth so it is not as big of deal in my situation.

  • What I do... If LO plays or bites, nursing session stops. I'll offer a few minutes later if he's hungry. With my other 2, I found this stage to be very short-lived. Hopefully the same is true with you!
  • Excellent- thank you! While I thought those teeth were cute at first, I'm not so sure now!

  • Same here, she laughs at me. So I take away the boobs, and she usually settles down and nurses. She has not done it much lately

This is what I do also. They're adjusting to their new teeth and it's usually just a passing phase.

Most of the time biting = bored or not hungry, so I usually just end it for that session.
