Circumcision frustration

I am beyond frustrated right now with the urologist. First, my ped said circs aren't done at the hospital, and he would refer us to a ped urologist after our first appointment. I got the referral, and called when LO was just a week old. They told me it had to be done before he was a month old. Should have been no problem. He'll be a month old on Monday and now they tell me the tentative appt for tomorrow might not go forward, and they never even talk to the surgeon yet if it can. I have called this place over 15 times in the past 2.5 weeks, and the person I need is never there or will call me back with info (and then never does). Now, I have no appt and was told its the dr's discretion if he'll even do it past this week. W. T. F.

    Have you actually seen the urologist? When you do, make sure he is aware of the scheduling problems you have had. A few days past one month isn't a big deal if a urologist is doing the procedure but I agree, time is of the essence here. The reason they prefer to do it earlier is b/c there is less pain for LO and also, they are more sleepy in those first weeks which is better for recovery.

    I haven't seen the urologist, and wouldn't even have thought of mentioning it to him (I would imagine id be so relieved that it wouldn't cross my mind), but you're right, I should and will!
