O' Doul's

I'm going to ask my doctor on Monday about this but wanted to know if any one drinks O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer.  I noticed it says less than 0.5% alcohol in it.  I've got a strong craving for beer and wanted to know if I should avoid this also?

Re: O' Doul's

  • I know lot of people that drank those not all the time but when they craved it.  My friend craved beer while pregnant so she bought beer flavored chapstick I know that does sound gross!!!!!  I think if you have one every once and awhile everything will be ok!

  • That is very little alcohol. I'd feel comfortable with having one here and there.

Last night I had a craving for a really strong, hoppy beer. Just have to try to ignore those... I imagine O'Douls tastes more like Bud.?

  • I believe Jasonswife does. She is on the west coast though and she hangs out in 2nd tri and BOTB. She said she drinks the non-alcoholic beer. She may be on tonight. Thats her normal time.
  • Yes, I had one the other night, but I have read that you should just get over even the idea of alcohol, so even o'doul's is not good. ?I just got a fab book from my mom, the newly non-drinking girl's guide to pregnancy,it has some great mocktails that can still be fun and celebratory, but without any alcohol.
  • I've been craving beer too! I've been craving hefeweizen and garlic chicken pizza. I haven't acted on the cravings though.

From what I hear, they don't know how much alcohal effects causes problems in a pregnancy because the only real research that's been done so far is for pregnant heavy-drinkers. Although, I've also heard that there are a lot of Europeans who drink in moderation through out their pregnancies and have no problems. I've known a lot of people who drank occasional beers while pregnant and never had a problem.

However, I still don't think I'm going to drink a real beer any time soon.
