kissaluvs worth it

I'm torn...

I signed up for the Jillian's drawers newborn trial program that includes a kissaluv which it seems that the concensus is that these are a favorite for newborns.

I'm tempted to purchase another 12 of these (new/organic version) along with the trial b/c by the time I try it out and go ahead and purchase more, I'll only have 1-2 months left to use them. (My family has big babies and I was a 10lber-so that concerns me too.)

On the other hand, I have 4 BG's one-size, a Gdiaper starter kit, and one pack of newborn disposable 7th gen to fill in the gaps.  I don't know if the BGs and GDiaps are going to fit my newborn or not?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated...

Thanks!

  • Not sure on the gdiapers, but the BGs definitely won't work on a newborn, unless you do have a 10lb newborn. That's usually about the weight when they start to work - they need to get past that skinny leg newborn phase and just get a little bit more fat on them to fit the BGs and that's usually around 10lbs:)

  • you can buy KL0's on diaperswappers.com for $4-5 each, free shipping.  That's what I've done, and I'm hoping to be able to resell them for about the same.

  • I did the KL rental package, and the KL0's worked on DS until he was 3 months - he started off at 8 lbs 6 oz, and was probably around 12 lbs when he stopped using them.  They worked wonderfully the entire time.  We loved our KL0's.  BG's didn't work on our DS until around 3 - 3 1/2 months.  I'd definitely get a few!  If you wanted to, you could always purchase them, not wash them and return them (depending on time limit of return policy) if you have a really big LO, or they are pretty easy to resell (I would imagine).

  • We loved ours.  DD is skinny (she was big when she was born, but is growing faster in length than in weight), and we used them until she was about 6/7 months.  If you are planning on having more kids, they'd be a great investment, and they hold up really well....and they'd be a great resell.

I will be keeping my eye on our used sites to pick up more for our next DC.

  • we found the gdiapers not so good with runny newborn poo. i wanted to love them but ended up loving all cloth instead.
