I am still clueless about all of the solid feeding things. Right now the boys are eating two solids a day.
We give them oatmeal (4tbsp-the LOVE it) in the morning and we give them a veggie in the late afternoon evening.
I actually have not yet started fruits but are planning to start bananas today. I am thinking maybe they are ready for 3 meals, but not sure if they are, and not sure when the norm to start 3 is.
So, do you think I should do banana and cereal in the morning, or do I do cereal in the morning, banana in the afternoon and veggie in the evening? My pedi never really seems to have an opinion on these things and I have no clue what I am doing.
Thanks
Re: XP: When did you start 3 solid meals/day and how much?
We had troubles getting enough formula into Katen so she switched to three meals a day at mos and transitioned fully to food with formula on the side and two snacks at one year.
1/4 cup is generally a serving and you can usually give them 2-3 foods (a protein, a fruit, a veggies, a starch...) at a time to make a meal.
For example today we're doing:
Breakfast: waffle, banana, yogurt bites, milk/formula
snack: leftover waffle and/oror blueberries, milk/formula or water
Lunch: peas and carrots, cheese and black bean quesadilla, applesauce, milk/formula
snack: puffs or string cheese or yogurt, milk/formula or water
Dinner: whatever we're having as long as she's not allergic, milk/formula
