STM+: Need advice.

We are going to a birthday party at a splash pad today. I just found out DH may not be able to attend.

I'm quite intimidated by the thought of bringing our 4mo and quite rambunctious 4.5yo. DS wants me to play with him there sometimes, or needs help too and so I may get wet. She can't have sunscreen until 6mo. There are shady areas at the pad so...

Any suggestions on how to manage the two of them?

    Baby wearing, stroller with canopy. Will you know any other parents there, so you could leave baby in stroller and walk away if needed?

    The Aveeno Baby is good stuff for our fair-skinned LOs, too. I have heard the same thing about sun block but not sun screen before 6m. I know it's too late now but how did the party go? Hope it wasn't too crazy for you!

    Well... We went there, DH ended up coming too. But sadly during the party DS seemed quite out of sorts, a normally outgoing friendly and rambunctious 4.5yo was sleepy, and didnt want to socialize (not normal behavior). We decided to get home, where we discovered he was running a fever! He was fighting a cold last week, we thought it was gone, but its back.

    DS, while was showing signs when we went out of town...he was super grumpy & defiant. I thought it regression.

    This momma got no sleep last night, b/c of fever spikes. :(
