Anyone else use this? I don't have a Doppler but I heard good things about the app so I downloaded it and it's so cool! I was able to record the heartbeat and send it to my husband. Remember to have your phone in airplane mode... Love it!
Uh, let me get this straight.... you think your phone is picking up the heartbeat? Hope you seriously didn't pay money for this.
Did you know there is an x-ray app too, where you can see your bones?
Hi 1984 it's 2014, let me explain technology to you....
My Baby’s Beat is based on an algorithm that taps into the iPhone’s sound capturing and processing capabilities. The app imitates a medical stethoscope, by amplifying the sound of the baby’s heartbeat.
I've seen the app and thought about using it but, I'm just not an app person. I don't like paying for them either lol but that's just me.
As for netsirk, I think your attitude toward someone else spending their money the way they want is absolutely stupid. I'm not going to defend the app because idk how well it works or not but there's no need for that kind of attitude. She's using the app to have fun with her pregnancy. I could understand if she were using it as her OB. Calm the fuck down
On a related but similar topic -- anybody using a kick count app? I felt a little paranoid today when it seemed like the baby was being really quiet, and I know it's suggested to start counting at around 28 weeks, but I downloaded a free kick counter just to keep me occupied tracking movement.
Reminds me of the girls that pay to pee in a cup to determine what they are having. My undies are not in any kind of twist. This concept is just silly.

Clearly this is nothing like peeing in a cup to determine sex. I'm not sure how you have an opinion on something that you have never used. You remind me of someone who says they don't like a certain type of food they have never tried.
It's not a difficult concept to grasp. I explained it before, I'm sorry you cant comprehend this and you think it's fake, lol.
I bought this app awhile ago. I have found my own heartbeat but no luck with the babies heartbeat.
P.S.I never peed in a cup to determine by babies sex.
Just looked at the app and it says it's really intended for weeks 30-40 so maybe that's it.
Now I'm tempted to spend the $5 just to check it out. Or I could go to Taco Bell and get a nachos bell grande.
I used the baby beat app later in my last pregnancy. Worked like a charm. Not sure why @backwardskristen is so worked up about it... maybe she doesn't have $5 to spend on it and she's jelly?
I bought the app and it really does work. It took a while for me to find the baby's heartbeat and of course it's not as clear as if I were using a Doppler. It was something fun I thought I could waste $5 on even if it might be bogus. However, after messing around with it, the $5 was worth it in my book.
I would also like to add that I would never pee on a stick for it to tell me the sex of my baby.
Have y'all seen the "Baby View" app where you just put the camera close to your belly and you can FaceTime with your unborn baby...?
Just kidding. I actually bought Baby Beat last week and it has worked for me several times. I think it's awesome what technology can do. Hearing my kid's heartbeat whenever I want is worth $5 all day long. What will they come up with next?
Not worked up. Just skeptical. Baby's heart beats are in a normal range. The app could have prerecorded, various HB on it. I personally don't have an iPhone or care to. I downloaded a similar app to see before I commented and all that I heard was silence.... I did not jump on the op & I did give it a shot.

It's this statement that just proves you did not "give it a shot" because if you used the app you would know that every little move you make it picks up on it, so a "pre-recorded" heartbeat is hilarious. Just because you heard silence on a similar app still proves NOTHING FOR THIS APP. It works, its fun, get over it, let it go.

Skepticism is one thing and I was skeptical over it at first as well, but let's be real you weren't skeptical you were trying to be a snarky bitch by making look like I actually believed this worked and now that other people are agreeing you are now "skeptical" lol

I was thinking about getting an app to track the kicks but he kicks so damn much, I'd be on my phone all day. Is it really necessary to count all the kicks or just pay attention to when they do?

It's important after 28 weeks to count the kicks ( I am high risk so not sure if that makes a difference)

I don't count kicks because I feel regular movement. With my last pregnancy I was never even instructed to, they just asked if I was having regular movement. I think I would drive myself nuts trying to count kicks since she can be quiet for a long time and then active for periods of time. If I was high risk I would be more inclined to do so.

You were pretty mockalicious... FWIW, I tried it out of curiosity, sort of wondering the same thing...so I tried it on my heart beat first, so I could match it with my pulse rate and it was right on. Couldn't hear the LO yet, but I'm only 20 weeks.
ETA: were instead of we're. Stupid autocorrect...doesn't it read context???
Wrt kick counts, after 27 or 28 weeks my doctor just had me make sure she was active at least once in the morning, afternoon, or evening. I didn't have to count anything unless she missed one of those, and then it was the 10 kicks in an hour. I think that only happened once or twice.
LBR, I'll probably download it. It sounds like a fun way to get some peace of mind for people who are like me. The people who rationally know everything is fine but want to be doing something to calm their unnecessary nerves.
I don't think OP, or anyone else, would use it in place of medical advice or care. If I genuinely have concerns you'll find my ass in the ER telling them to use their whole medical arsenal to make sure little man is ok in there. But when I'm at home, bored, I'd probably use it. It sounds fun
I got the app because you ladies peeked my interest and I am pretty sure that I heard her heartbeat but, I got creeped out by the terms of agreement and the idea of cellular waves and the potential of harming the baby...maybe I'm too paranoid. I put it on airplane mode but I still didn't feel right, so I deleted it hahaha. I suppose it was a waste of $5 but hey, I'd spend more at Starbucks, so it's ok with me!
Has anyone used this with the iPhone 5? I read in one of the reviews that you need headphones, but on my phone the headphone jack is on the bottom. I don't think I could get it to lie flat on my stomach with headphones in. Thanks in advance!

I'll probably end up doing both. I have no self control.
