I was SO HAPPY to drop my daughter off at her dayhome today! I was debating staying home with her because the dayhome provider's daughter was home sick with the stomach flu yesterday and is home again today but I sent her because she was a whiny, clingy, tantrummy mess this morning from the moment she got up and I seriously needed time away from all of that.
Fingers crossed for no barfing this weekend.
ETA the daughter is feeling better, but didn't go to school. There were 2 other kids there, so at least I'm not the only one!
Not gonna lie I'm judging this one.
I finally have something actually flameful!
I'm judging me a bit too, but to expand, the kid hasn't puked in 24 hours, and that is the window where I would send DD back to daycare if she had been sick so.....
Also, this kid (the provider's daughter) has been sick for 6 workdays in the last 3 weeks. My H and I are teachers who get no PTO, and have NO family in the area, so back-up care is super difficult. For me to stay home with her I have to use one of my precious few sick days. I usually do everything I can to avoid exposure, but risks are linited. I also know provider will do all she can to keep them separated.
Wait a minute...you had to go to work?! I thought you were home for the day and just sent her because you didn't want to deal with her tantrums!!
Consider my judgement retracted.
I was strictly judging because I thought her kid was puking still last night. Now since that is cleared up I wouldn't even judge if she had the day off.
I take the day off work and send my kid to daycare occasionally because mama needs a break.
I'm ordering a damn turkey sandwich and I'm gonna eat the shit out of it. It's been 4 months and they are my favorite food and I JUST NEED ONE OK? NO RAGRETS!
I had jury duty roll call this morning. We were done by 10am. I could have gone into work but instead am home watching trash tv and cleaning.
OMG, jury duty is the BEST. I've served 3 times. DH is jealous because he's never been called.
I have had jury duty twice. Once they just sent us home, but the second time I actually had to go into a court room and stay there all day while the lawyers picked the jurors. It was a murder trial and what I could get out of all the questions was the murder was in self defense (or at least that is what the defense lawyers were trying to prove).
MY FFFC- I automatically looked at the guy on trial and thought, "That guy killed someone and he is guilty". I ended up not getting picked to be on the jury but I always feel so bad I thought that because of ya know "innocent until proven guilty". But that was almost 5 years ago so maybe I have grown up a little. I never want to get picked for jury duty again!
I also hate getting my haircut. I go maybe 3-4 times a year and always wait until my hair looks horrible, same with my eyebrows.
Currently on the beach in Hawaii to kick off our baby moon...however all I've been doing is Bumping and waiting for pictures of my dogs from the dog sitter at home. I need to put the phone down...
FFFC - I pee in the shower, especially in the morning, because I think it's healthy to pee standing up and get all your morning pee out. I'm not going to waste toilet water flushing when I'm going to get in the shower.
Also, since I'm peeing a million times more now, we are going thru toilet paper like crazy, so I've been seriously thinking about make DIY wipe clothes that are re-useable, for wiping pee.
But not poop, that's gross.
I don't flush my middle of the night pees. I do everything I can, not to wake up DS since he is a light sleeper, plus the whole saving water deal.

Noooo I hate that DW Does it for the same reason. I hate it because when I go in there in the middle of the night or in the morning, the disgusting wet toilet paper is stuck to the toilet wall and the water won't flush it down by it's self. I have to get a large chunk of TP and then push it down into the water and scrub my skin off after haha. I can't complain about the water bill though...
I'm such a bathroom prude haha.
@jennsavicci, Have you every thought of getting the dual flush handles for your toilets? You can pick them up at any major hardware store, they are super easy to install yourself and basically allow for a small flush for liquids and a full flush for solids. It would give you the best of both worlds: no pee & TP sitting in the toilet all night and still great savings on your water bill.

Put the phone down! All of us sitting behind our desks or in freezing locales are insanely jealous of you. Enjoy your trip :-)
@literachick Yes absolutely! I would never put my 5 year old on a leash or in an umbrella stroller. However it really depends on the child. If I had a kid like the little shit that lives across the street, I would absolutely be a leash mom. And I'd probably be an alcoholic.
