$1 donations

I just went through Wedny's drive thru for lunch and was asked if I wanted to donate $1 to St Jude's.

I always feel so bad saying no...but it feels like you get hit up for this type of donation almost everywhere you shop these days! DH and I donate directly to several charities each year, St Jude's being one of them.

Do you donate the $1...always, sometimes, never? Do you feel bad if you don't?

I regularly donate $1 to the animal foundations that our local pet store is supporting at the time. At the check-out you can choose to donate $1, $5, or $10. I usually do $1. I like to help out animals whenever possible, and I feel like in this case $1 isn't bad to ask.

However... if it starts popping up at every register at every store I think I will get a little annoyed too.

@mommybolty I donate the $1 at petsmart also. For some reason that one doesn't bother me.

I've done it a few times, but after a while it gets old, especially if I go to the store a lot. Now there's a prompt on the card swipe machine, so I just click no.

I do them occasionally, but if I don't I always feel like shit. Although one time we agreed to round up for a children's fund of sorts at our pharmacy.... well because of our store card, every time after that they rounded up all of our transactions. I didn't notice until one time the cashier was like "do you want this? You have a baby of your own to take care of!" I had her take it off.

I rarely do. I always feel bad about if. I don't know why. I donate to several charities on a regular but I feel awful about that $1

I usually donate the $1. When the holiday season comes around and every flippin' store is asking for donations I sometimes get the cajones to say no.

I never do and I never feel bad. Many of those organizations are poorly rated for how they actually spend the donated money.

I'm very distrusting of most charitable organizations.

I rarely do and I don't feel guilty for saying no. I have my own charity plus I donate to another charity at work.

Yep. We donate to (usually) local charities that are close to our hearts.

I always donate when asked. I feel good, it only costs me a couple bucks, and they could use it more than me. Our grocery stores are always hitting us up for $$. I love when I get to sign on those things that they put on the wall lol.

I find they are always children's charities - can't say no to that! Especially the local children's hospital - we donate quite a bit there in hopes we'll never have to see the inside.

I always do.. If it's just a dollar it's not gonna kill me and it's gonna help someone else... You never know when you or a loved one might need assistance from that charity

I never do. We give mostly through our church and occasionally elsewhere. I prefer to know where my money goes and to not only give money but be involved. I'd rather give $10 one place than $1 to 10 places

Were you as disappointed as I was when you received your free frosty??!! It was to small for my frosty fix
