I have to go back to the hospital this afternoon for my second steroid shot. I think the nurse mentioned they'll put the baby on the monitor before the shot to make sure everything is okay, so I'm sure they'll likely take my blood pressure again - hoping it's fine today.
Well I was sopose to have my two week check up but due to the never ending winter her in NC they are closed today was sopose t be a dusting and woke up to six inches and ice ❄️⛄️
I wasn't feeling well at work..dizzy and lightheaded so had the school nurse do my blood pressure and it was 170/92. Called the OB and they had me come in right away. By the time I got there it was down to 154/90 which is about where I have been at the past few weeks. Still no protein in my urine so that was good. They upped my blood pressure meds and I go back next Friday to follow up.
@kibean Yikes - glad it went down and there is no protein!!
My appointment was fine - quick, which was great since I took M with me to the hospital - I built up this whole adventure thing for it.
Baby was good on monitor, my bp was fine-ish - 138/something - I don't remember. Got the shot, out the door. I'm doing a 24 hour urine collection Monday to Tuesday, then appointment with my doctor on Thursday.
My discharge papers say I'm stable. I'd like to keep it that way!
I think I passed my glucose test. The first two were good the 3 rd was high by 5 points and the last one was good by 1 point. If I remember you have to pass the majority. Being 3/4 to be good. Just waiting on my dr. I love computer charting. I get it back as soon as the lab does and an email. Makes the wait less stressful.
Celebrated with culvers and daddy bought baby ice cream. Not for me, it's for her!!
I had another Ultrasound today, and the Radiologist told me the "abnormal vasculature" seen at my appointment 2 weeks ago in Baby A is most likely Persistent Right Umbilical Vein, which is a pretty rare anomaly in the umbilical cord. Normally when this happens, there is further testing done to check for other anomalies. I have a fetal echo scheduled for next Friday for both babies, and my OB is considering having us do genetic testing. The research I've read online seems that any associated anomalies are relatively rare, and if none are found, prognosis is pretty good. I'm still a little worried, obviously, and wondering if anyone else has heard of this diagnosis or has any personal experience with it? Thanks, and good luck to everyone else today!
@SandraPB1220 I haven't heard of that but here's hoping it's nothing and you get great results from the fetal echo and possible genetic testing!
@chickpea912 glad you were in and out and are stable! Woo hoo!!!
And congrats to all the ladies who passed their glucose tests!!! @Mom&Nurse, culver's seems like the perfect way to celebrate.
I had my 3rd anatomy scan today at 26weeks 2days. They still can't see all of the heart but from what they can see, baby looks good. He's measuring 2 weeks ahead. Definitely big! Found out I also passed my 1 hour fasting glucose test! Woot woot. And last night we took a tour of the labor/delivery ward at our hospital. This shit just got real!!!! I have to go back to my high risk OB again in 4 weeks for a 4th scan in hopes that he can get a better look at a few things.
Hoping all you ladies had wonderful appts today and we can all have a relaxing weekend knowing our LOs are doing well in there!

@sandrapb1220 I don't have experience with the specific condition you mentioned, but I've definitely had a (minor?) roller coaster experience with potential genetic issues with this baby and have done the whole fetal echo testing deal. I hope the fact that this seems to be so rare bodes well for a positive prognosis, but I'm thinking of you!
