Had my 36 wk ckup this morning and it didn't go so well. My blood pressure was high....for me, but I guess not high enough to concern them yet, but it was close. My top # was 120 and that number for me is always right around 100. My fluid level is high which they said is a symptom of GD, and also can be a sign of shoulder distortion (he said picture big shoulders and small head) which could mean there's a good chance of them getting stuck during delivery. And the baby right now is already measuring larger than T was (she was 6 lbs 4 oz) and he said I had trouble delivery her, so they are going to keep a close watch on me and think about inducing me a week early in hopes of preventing the baby from growing so large that I would need a c-section. So he's sending me for the 3 hour GD test even though my 1 hour was fine, and he wants to do another ultrasound on me next week before he sees me for my weekly ckup. Ughhh, so I left the office and immediately burst into tears. For some reason all this news at once just got me really emotional. I'm trying to stay calm but I am just so worried about all of it, my BP, the GD, the shoulder distortion, and now also worrying about being induced which I was really praying that this time I could do things all naturally being as last time I ended up not being able to.

Maybe the baby is just ready to come out now. Sometimes I think they know if it will tougher to deliver them and they just get ready earlier, which might be the reason for your BP increase. Be sure you take the 3-hour GD test in the AM because you have to fast for it. I hope you can figure everything out...
Thoughts and Prayers to you!
*hugs*
I hope everything comes back ok

This was me with R to a "T"! Shoulder dystocia can be serious, I was happy to have a c section to avoid problems! I too passed my 1 hr, didn't even take the 3 hr they just had me test my BS 4x a day and eat better. Next pregnancy I will be considered to have GD and be monitored for it.
It will be ok! I would just start to watch your diet and eat like you have GD. A Csection isn't the end of the world if it gets your baby here safe!
Hugs!
Take one appointment at a time and try not to let it overwhelm you. Everything will work out!
sorry you got a LOT of overwhelming information at once- it can be tough to take- but it sounds like your doc is trying to cover all the bases.
I agree with PP- take it one appt at a time and try not to worry- good thoughts coming your way
Aw, I'm sorry the appt was rough...I'm sure all is fine!
I was measuring 3-4 weeks ahead at 37 weeks. It was due to excess fluid. I didn't need to do another GD test, but they did do blood work that would test for a virus and GD(I guess it could show my blood sugars over a few months--no nasty drink required). Anyway, I ended up GDfree and no virus, just unexplained excess fluid.
Hang in there!
