We are planning to travel over Easter break. I spoke to my uncle, and he has offered us his place in Costa Rica for the week. Have you been? Did you love it? I have always wanted to go, but never have been.
I loved it- it's was awesome to have a super beachy tropical place, but also stuff to do that wasn't just beachy. We went zip lining and ATVing in the jungle.
The food pretty much sucks though. You'd think it would be better with all the fresh seafood but we only found one place with amazing food. The rest was all meh.
Ok, I just totally loved it. It's by far my favorite vacation-y place to travel to (vs more sight seeing places like Europe... you know). The people are lovely, the scenery is gorgeous, the amenities are great, and there's tons to do. I'd take your uncles' place in a heartbeat!
My favorite vacation ever. Went with a couple girlfriends a few years ago and we had such a great time. I echo other people's comments. It's so beautiful. Great hiking, hot springs, best ziplining (so high up!), volcanoes, rainforests, lots of monkeys! What part of the country is your uncle's place? I highly recommend Monteverde and Arenal.
