Hi! New here but recognize many of you! I'm in IVF #1 - started stimming last night with 150 Gonal F pen and 37.5 Menopur. I'm exhausted. Literally - drooling on myself. Not feeling the bloat YET - but already living in yoga pants daily from the last 3 failed IUIs.
Thank your for allowing me to join your Team Shamrock! I have many questions about this IVF thing and will lurk around before asking as I'm sure you've already answered them somewhere.
As for Oreos - haven't tried the new ones (marshmallow and peanut butter?) but have a feeling could easily polish off a whole bag at this point.

Things are chugging along with me. Today is day 9 of stimming w/ Gonal F (2x / day) & Menopur. I added the Ganirelix Tue night to stop me from ovulating. At my appt yesterday dr was glad to see some good growth he said things were growing, but he expected me to need the full days of stimming. So 12 days probably - ugggghhh. Four shots a day for a few more days!!
Thankfully I haven't had too many bad side effects. Had a pretty killer headache last night. A bit nauseous. And the first time I took the Ganirelix I had an itchy welt were the shot went in, but then read that's pretty common. Haven't had that quite so bad since but it still is red and a little more sore than the other shots.
I keep reminding myself how lucky I am to have this chance. That's what's getting me through right now doing all these shots. I know a lot of ladies I've read have said they've gotten used to them. So far I'm just not. I hate every part of it with such a passion I'm literally just trying to do it all without thinking about it too much. I really, really hate them but I'm just trying to ignore it.
I don't remember how many follies he said were measuring the size he wanted but he told me I would probably go for ER Tue or Wed he thought. This is really great news for me since I wasn't even sure if I'd be responsive to the meds and have enough follies to do that! So I'm cautiously excited.
Annnnd very very happy to hear that since I've now met my out of pocket maximum has been met on my insurance, my meds now cost $0!!! Oh I was so happy to hear that. Now for the rest of the year any expenses they consider covered (which should be everything) will be no charge! Of course it took a $6,350 up front payment and a higher monthly payment than insurance I would normally get through my employer, but overall I think we made a good decision.
Now I just have to worry about the treatments actually working, the distance I have to drive for each appt, and juggling things around work (which is all much more challenging than I realized).
Okay - sorry this got a little long!
QOTW: oh how I lovvvvve me some original Oreos & a glass of milk!
Can I just say how impressed with my Endo I am right now? I had blood drawn yesterday morning to check my thyroid levels at 8am, then had an email from my doctor with the results at noon. Who has ever heard of a 4 hour blood test turn around before?? As for the results... Not a surprise, my levels were significantly down. I didn't need a blood test to tell me that after the way I have been feeling, but still good to have scientific confirmation that it was not in my head. Luckily, Wednesday was my last BCP, so my thyroid levels should normalize again without having to change my Levothyroxine dose right now. As if dealing with IF wasn't enough on it's own...
Still on Lupron now, with prenatal and baby aspirin. Baseline scan is scheduled for Sunday at 10am. Can hardly wait to get this thing really started with stims! Not that I am looking forward to more needles (and these will be the dreaded IM kind), but after all the lead-up (failed treatments leading to this, months of getting finances in order and over 4 weeks on the BCP screwing up my thyroid meds and making me feel like a zombie) it will be good to be doing something more active & productive.

Hi ladies. I've been MIA for a few days and haven't read all the posts yet. Just a quick update- I thought cd1 was on Monday but my spotting stopped and started all week. It got heavier on Thursday so the nurse said to count it as day 1. I started clexane and my husband took his antibiotic on Friday as we thought it was cd2. Anyway all spotting stopped on Friday and I rang my doctor who said to go on the pill for 21 days and then start my cycle after that. WTF. I specifically asked about BCP's this cycle because of my spotting as I've taken them for all other cycles but he said not to go on them. I pleaded with him to let me wait to see if full flow occurred and he said that would be ok. Thankfully at midnight last night it did and so I rang him this morning and he has agreed to continue with the cycle. I slept only a couple of hours last night as I was so stressed and feel like crap today (Saturday in Oz). I'm relieved but still worried we've mucked things around with my meds a bit. Hopefully it will all be ok.

I use a 22 for my pio. It looks worse than it is. I lay down for the shot and wiggle my toes on the side its given. This seems to help relax the muscle for injection and gives me something else to concentrate on. Good luck!
