@violetflower - You want the number to be 10 and above.
3 and above means you ovulated.
But if its under 10 sometimes they call it "weak ovulation" or other things. It basically means low progesterone.

EDIT: Some people have great numbers like 20. But above 10 is all that matters.

@violetflower....FYI my progesterone was 7.6 on DPO 7 and 7.0 on DPO 10. My dr office said they didn't think I ovulated. I then told them I did because if temping, OPKs and my BFP on DPO 12. Good luck and try not to stress!

Testing Plans: I have been testing for a week. All BFN until this morning, my wondfo had what might have been the faintest of shaddow lines. Tested with a digi--BFN.

Rants/Phantom Symptoms/Chart Stalks: Either I am having a long luteal phase (which since nothing about my cycle is predictable is possible) OR I ovulated later than FF says. I think cd 32 looks more like a temp shift than where FF put my CH, in which case I would only be 10 dpo. Too frustrating.

GTKY: Would you rather take the pictures, or be in the pictures? Be in pictures, but only because I am terrible at taking them. If I'm having fun, I just completely forget to take the camera out, and I hate missing the action because I'm looking at my camera (or phone). My DH is the same way, which is why we have a total of 4 pictures from our honeymoon.

Let me start by introducing myself. I’ve been lurking around for the past 2 days getting familiar with everything. I decided it’s time to join in. DH and I have been married since May 2013. This is our first month TTC. We’re not telling anyone we’re trying, basically because we don’t know how it’s going to go. It’s been great reading on here and having other experiences to draw from. What seems like something so easy and natural, quickly becomes something that I feel clueless about. You ladies have already been extremely helpful. I’m looking forward to supporting and celebrating with all of you. I’m trying to figure out fertility friend…it’s going to take some time. Thanks!

Timing: poor (-2/-3)

Testing Plans: Saturday AM with FRER...I did a wondfo today - negative (booo). I'll do another Wondfo tomorrow.

Rants/Phantom Symptoms/Chart Stalks: not much, really. My nausea has gone down (which is typical for a few days before menses). Still random light brown/light pink (almost not there) spotting. Boobs are back to their normal size, which is small (double boo to that...I like it better when my boobs are a little bigger than their usual 32B).

GTKY: I would definitely rather NOT be in the pictures, but I love taking pictures! I usually hide from the camera unless I've had at least a couple drinks. Then I'm totally OK with hamming it up.

Question to you all -- have you heard of "luteal phase defect"? Have any of you been dx'ed with it? If so, how were you diagnosed and what was/is being done to manage it? I'm wondering if I have it, given the light spotting...

Really bumming because I don't think FIL will be with us for much longer. I thought I would cry, but I'm just really numb lately. I have an appt with OB in a week bc I never had the preconception visit and I want to hear her suggestions.

GTKY: I'm usually in pictures by default because I almost never take pics.

I've seen that there are two different units of measuring progesterone- is it always on that same scale in the US? Mine jumped up to 32 this cycle... if 10 and over means I ovulated, that sounds great! On the other scale, however, 32 seems kind of minimal.

Welcome @emmatott87! Looks like you've got the 2WW format down pretty good already

@heystvincent - I've heard of LPD because it can be linked to low progesterone (which I have) but I think it's one of those things thats not officially diagnosed easily. An RE would want a lot of background like several charts with short (9 or less) LPs in tandem with other signs and tests. Do you have a clicky chart? Remember spotting does not mean a new cycle. Some ladies spot for 3 or 5 whole days at times before they have true "flow" that requires a pad or tampon. I wouldn't worry on it just yet unless you see a pattern for a while.

Hmm. I'm not sure of another scale. I remember when I got my first result in August it was an 8. I had no clue that was bad until I asked people here. I googled and never figured out how the heck to interpret the number. What I heard here was the exact same thing my RE told me (3 means ovulation, but 10 meant healthy ovulation). 32 is outstanding!!! Assuming it is all the same scale in the US. You could always call your docs nurse line and ask what they consider "good".

I do know they sometimes look at the numbers differently for "medicated" cycles, like they want the number to be higher. But my 17.4 was medicated and they said that was great.

If TTC, TSH should hopefully be around 1, anything over 2 they might want ya to take something. I am hovering at .75 which everyone tells me is awesome. (Not sure if you knew where that one should be)

@amberhoothoot - Thanks for the advice! I am tracking everything (my CM, OPKs, cervix position) with the exception of my temps. My sleep schedule is so erratic (due to school, my husband's weird hours, and my clinical schedule) that I don't get up at the same time every day, so I don't know if temping is worth it for me or not. I think you really need to have a pretty regular bed/wake-up schedule to do temping properly. Maybe I'll try it anyway...

Timing: great, I thought! HI like 7 out of 10 days over what calendar was showing should be my fertile time....

Rants/Phantom Symptoms/Chart Stalks: had a slight nauseous feeling off & on for about a week and had absolutely no signs/feelings that AF was coming, other than a massive headache on Monday (which is normal for me, headaches all week of AF). I had some slight twinges that were different over the last week, had been thinking I would test on weekend if no signs of AF....then headache started this morning and after I get to work, it appears AF has made her appearance

not heavy, or cramping, but required more than panty liner. This is only my 2nd cycle off BC, 1st month actually trying, so I know it was slim chance, but.....

I am not actually temping/charting (in the Bahamas and don't have a WalMart to run to buy! if nothing happens in the next few months I will be ordering or picking up when I go to Florida)

Many ladies have varying wake-up times, but as long as you get 3 hours of sleep straight you should be fine.

Thanks for the info! I will call my nurse line tomorrow. All they said on the message was that it was a 32 and that confirmed ovulation. I've had low progesterone in the past (don't know the numbers), so I am definitely looking forward to more information from them. I go back to my OB on March 24, and if I'm not pregnant he's referring me to an RE. Mixed feelings about that...
