  Funny... I wouldn't say The Cure was my fav band back in the day... but I just happened to have an old Cure CD on hand at the office yesterday when I needed some desperately melancholy music to wallow in on CD1.  Worked like a charm  

  
  

  I was a totally sheltered Amy Grant lovin' girl through most of the 80's... didn't really get into mainstream music until end of the decade brought my early favs Young MC and MC Hammer (which was my first concert!).

  I love all kinds of genre of music ...I would of fit in to any party except I was sheltered too and didn't go to any;)....I listened to rock, grunge rock, indie, blues and r&b...lol

  I'm an 80's girl, pretty much loved it all.  First concert was Shawn Cassidy (in the 70's though). First real concert with friends was Journey.  I loved and still love Journey.

  Me: 44 - Hashimoto's (under control), DH: 38 - (minor issues)
  
  IUIs: 2 in 2012 ... Both BFN
  IVF #1: 10/16/13 ... BFP, however it was not viable and ended in an early loss at 7weeks.
  IVF #2: Feb '14 ... Cancelled. Positive beta at baseline appt, became very early loss.
  IVF #2: Apr '14 ... Retrieval Only. 2 embryos made it to day 3 freeze & will be batched with IVF #3 for PGD testing.
  IVF #3: June '14 ... Retrieval Only. 4 embryos growing, all arrested before day 5. Two from April thawed, but also arrested.
  Currently benched while determining how to proceed.

  Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  OMGosh I love this thread! I love love love 80s music. It takes me back. But i was young in the 80s and so my musical experiences came from the music my dad played (and I LOVE him for that) It was the late 80s and early 90s when I got into HS when i really got into my own music. 

  
  

  So in the 80s I was loving my dads Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zepplin, Eagles, STIX, etc. 

  
  

  However I remember as a child LOVING Michael Jackson and Madonna. Micheal Jackson was my first record. I then loved Depeche Mode, The Cure, Motley Crue (my second record), The Smiths, Guns and Roses was MY all time favorite for a loooooong time. 

  
  

  Now Im a juke box. Im a music junkie of sorts.

  
  

   My husband didn't understand it until years into our relationship what music was to me and when we went to a concert festival out here called Stage Coach and the Eagles were headlining and he had no idea who they were he made us leave 2 or 3 songs in. As we were driving out of the lot I heard them start Life in the Fast Lane and I just burst into tears. He didn't understand till later what kind of iconic group this was and that it really was a once in a life time experience possibly for me. He feels bad about it to this day. 

  
  

  Eagles came out here to Ca this year and my 3 siblings and I all pitched in a couple hundred dollars to get them seats. I would have loved to go….but my parents totally deserve it more than I do. So I wanted to send them instead of us go.

  For me it WAS sad…..lol. If you told me I had to give up one or the other..music or TV/movies for the rest of my life I would EASILY say "Sionara!" to TV/movies.

  THAT would be my husband. It was a 3 day festival, we had been there all three days. I had been waiting many months ahead when we bought the tickets in anticiption of seeing the Eagles over all the other dozens of singers/groups/bands that were playing. I could NOT BELIEVE he was making us leave. He didn't know the music and had no idea what a big deal they were. He knows now, and I think he knows better that if I say a band is ICONIC…..they are. 

  
  

  He (and i say this lightly) sort of made up for it by getting tickets to see Red Hot Chili Peppers at a smaller more intimate venue and that was AH-MAZING! 

  
  

  RHCP is one of my all time favorites as well. They too will go down as iconic to music junkies like myself.

  So glad you ladies are enjoying the thread, I only posted my all time favorite band (with Springsteen who is tired with DM) but I didn't want to name all the bands so you guys had something to talk about

  
  

  we had the best alternative radio station here in Monmouth County NJ, it was Y106.3 it was AWESOME it was a small station.

  
  

  So how many of you used to call into the radio stations requesting songs, or sending songs out to "that special someone" 

  
  

  Also waiting with a tape deck next to the radio you could tape that "awesome" song???

  clomid, trigger & timed bd 12/12 BFN
  1st clomid IUI 1/4/13 BFN.
  2nd clomid IUI 2/13 cancelled didn't respond to clomid.
  3/15/13 scheduled laparoscopy & on bcp.

  May 10 IUI from injectibles - BFN 

  May 22 done with interventions it will either happen or it won't. 

  February 2014 No longer actively trying, but not preventing. 

  SURPISE BFP 4/2/2015!!!!!!!!!!

  It's was actually Wild Mood Swings (appropriately titled for my week)... one of their later albums, with none of the big hits, but really good.  Random purchase from at a used music store.
