It's still kind of early to be using it. I have one that both my older boys started using around 4 or 5 months. They loved it then and so did I. It makes life a little easier when you can put them in the seat and they can watch you make dinner or whatever.
These chairs were actually developed for physical challenged kids. They dont help with sitting up and building the muscles only propping... Which Los need the muscle work out in my opinion so i will not be using one.
Btw have u seen the teen mom episode where she was washing dishes and had her bumpo hanging off the counter. I about died.
My SIL used one with my nephew when he was 7 months old as a travel high chair. With the attachable tray, we sat it on our counter to feed him when they visited last summer. He was never ever in it without someone right there and it was far back on the counter. So I think for that purpose, at that age, it's great, especially since it wipes off really easily for messy baby eaters. For babies this young, I dunno. I won't use it with my LO yet because she doesn't sit with a straight spine, though she has excellent head & neck control.
I haven't used mine yet for this baby, he's not strong enough. This question floated around my old BMB so I asked Liam's physical therapist. They had bumbos in the therapy room. She said it was fine in moderation.
Btw, I think 99.9% of us wouldn't be caught dead doing anything seen in a teen mom episode so thanks for that
Dude, I just watched this weeks episode of Teen Mom 2 (yes, I watch teen mom and use the word "dude" in casual conversation). Jenelle had the best quote evaaaaaaar.
"I like it when we go to court because it makes me feel more classier. It makes me look better, you know, for the judge. Instead of wearing flip flops or something."
Who doesn't feel like the epitome of class and poise when going to court for felony heroin charges?
There is a lot of push back from OT/PT field regarding the Bumbo because of the pressure it puts on the spine and the motions that baby can make are not natural motions in the sitting position. But, if your using it for 5,10, 15 minutes at a time, I don't think there's a problem. Just don't stick baby in it and leave them for a long time. However, it's still pretty early for most of our LOs to be in them at all. They need to have extremely strong head neck control before they are in it.

I watched part of an episode of Teen Mom 2 with DS1 in the room the other day. He is almost 6 years old. I told him that I never want to be on this show as a grandma. He looked at me like I was on crack so I said it again and then told him he has to be 30 to have babies. He shrugged his shoulders and then went to play legos.

Spoiler alert to the rest of the board: @leahraewku and I are the same person, it turns out.
I don't like the Bumbo. We had one for DS and I got rid of it. He was able to flip it over on its side pretty easily and it never seemed comfortable. It's also small for babies with chunky thighs. We bought this seat for Finn this week and I feel like it serves the same purpose as the Bumbo without the negative effects.
We have one and have been using it for the few weeks. At first I helped support LO's head as needed. Now she's doing it on her own without our support.

OP I don't have a Bumbo. I've read it isn't good for their spines when they are this young so I'm not using one.
