I got a cheap one with DS and the first time I wore it I got a major heat rash and never put it back on. This time I got one second hand, not sure the brand, but I will give it a try a few days out and see what happens.
I bought a cheap one last time and I regretted not putting a little more money into a good one because it does help hold your new cushy belly in, the cheap on rolled and bunched and I was wanting it to work better (babies r us brand). I'm not claiming that helps with weight-loss or that it's a quick fix to getting your stomach back or that wearing a band even looks good under clothing, because frankly I never wanted to wear it out of the house. It was much more comfortable for me to have my belly held in. All this said the I'm trying the belly-bandit this time because I got a good deal on a website, I've heard Wink is good, and also the Bellefit. Amazon has some helpful reviews! GL
I have a cheap one that I found at a consignment store so I got a killer deal ($2) so I figured if I like the idea of wearing one (never wore one with ds 1&2) than I will upgrade.
I used a belly bandit with my first and it really seemed to help...Yes, it was hot at times but it also made me feel less mushy and gave my back additional support. I would highly recommend.
I went pretty balls to the wall on this purchase. I'm usually relatively thrifty, but I just spent almost $200 on two Bellefit corset / bands. I'm a planned c-section, so I want it both for the waistline help and the hold my insides in place help. It got really good reviews and was the recommended brand from my OB. Here's to hoping they weren't a waste of money!
This was something I hadn't even considered, but my friend brought it up last night, and asked if I had purchased one. She said she used one after her baby, and it held her in and made her feel secure, so that her insides didn't feel like they were going to fall out. It's something to think about, but I don't want to spend a lot of money. I do have a couple of those Bella Bands that I bought for the early part of pregnancy (when my regular pants still kind of fit but wouldn't button anymore) that I never wore, so maybe I'll give those a try first.
I got a bellefit. Based on my hip measurements I went w a medium and I was just looking at it last night thinking 'am I really going to fit into that thing while I still need it?!' But I'm hoping it fits & works.
I felt the same way about mine when it arrived!! The measurements seemed so exact, but damn it looks small!!
And my OB cleared me to start wearing mine as soon as I'm home from the hospital (so 3 days postpartum).
Sooo...just thought I'd come back and PSA / review the Bellefit. That band is ah-mazing. Totally worth every penny. It's absolutely wonderful for pp support and it doesn't hurt or pinch at my incision site at all. I didn't realize how much my back and posture had been affected and it's been so helpful for getting me back to good habits in those areas. It's really helped get everything moving back into it's right place and all but eliminated my pp pooch. Love!
@VanessaBee I'm so glad you posted!! I still have an inside baby, and seeing my bellafit sit on my dresser always makes me think "that better work.."! Lol! It was expensive but had the best reviews, thanks for reassuring me!! I'm weirdly excited to put it on soon! Haha
I got the bellafit too but I'm returning it- it's like a spanx but very uncomfortable. When I called they said it was because I was hour glass shape and had a zipper one.
I could have reordered a different kind but didn't feel it was much different then a spanx
Ooh, @BethRN1987, I'm glad you posted what kind you got. I didn't even think to do that. I got the corset kind with the hook-and-eye closure. And it's like a body suit (80's reference!!!!) - it has a panty part to keep it from creeping. The first day I wore it, I had to use the bigger of the closure options because I couldn't get it to close on the smaller one.
@VanessaBee - Did you sleep in it? I got the corset style bellefit as well, and the website suggests you sleep in it at first. I'm worried that it will be super uncomfortable. Thoughts?

I haven't slept in it yet and I don't think I will. I followed the "wear it for 12 hours a day" end of the guideline. I just put it on first thing in the morning and take it off at or after the 12 hour mark. During the day I don't find it hot or uncomfortable, but I think I would find it too hot at night. I don't like to have anything touching me when I sleep...ha!
Re: Postpartum girdle/band
I had originally planned just to wear my belly bands from being KU.
And my OB cleared me to start wearing mine as soon as I'm home from the hospital (so 3 days postpartum).
