Potty Training

I admit, I haven't been on the board in FOREVER, but, this seemed like the best place to go for solid adivce. My son was born at the end of October, so he's just about 16 months old. For the last two weeks, he's been telling me every time he fills his pants, and now, he seems to have figured out that if he pushes while I'm changing his diaper, he can make himself piddle (and he laughs about it). He has "forced" himself to do this about 4 or 5 times in the last 2 days. First of all, yes, I have a little stinker on my hands, but am I completely unrealistic to think that I may be able to begin thinking about potty training based on these signals?

I would try, but not force the issue. Alexis has been really interested when we go to the bathroom so we decided to get her own seat last week. Usually we only put her on the potty after we change her diaper, but if she has been wet for a while we will put her on. She is also starting to show signs when she needs to go. If she potty trains now that is great, but we are not going to try force it yet.

ETA. She has gone in the potty twice.

We have been doing the same thing.  Shes not showing signs when she needs to go, so I just put her on after wake up, after naps, etc.  Sometimes she goes, most of the time she doesn't but I want her to be used to sitting on the potty. TBH it's more work for me than anything else, but I don't mind.
