I admit, I haven't been on the board in FOREVER, but, this seemed like the best place to go for solid adivce. My son was born at the end of October, so he's just about 16 months old. For the last two weeks, he's been telling me every time he fills his pants, and now, he seems to have figured out that if he pushes while I'm changing his diaper, he can make himself piddle (and he laughs about it). He has "forced" himself to do this about 4 or 5 times in the last 2 days. First of all, yes, I have a little stinker on my hands, but am I completely unrealistic to think that I may be able to begin thinking about potty training based on these signals?
Re: Potty Training
I say buy a potty and see how he does. That's kind of what happened with us. She started telling us when she pooped so we got a potty. Then she saw her cousin use it and she just took off with it. We use pullups now 90% of the time. Some days we use 2 pullups, some days we use 5. I haven't had to change a dirty diaper in a month though. So there's that!
