I know inquiring minds are dying to know, but I stayed with my current OB instead of changing practices. I just wasn't comfortable switching at this point, the new place is a PITA to get too, and I wasn't thrilled about the office policy on seeing you without an appointment. My current dr is great about that.
To make up for his lack of explaining, I signed up for some classes, bought some books and am working on a list of questions to go in with next time.

I'm happy you found a solution you are comfortable with!
mrsdbc - technically I only get two as well. I might get a third to follow up on the baby's brain development - but they only do additional ultrasounds if something might be off.
Laying in bed bumping and getting ready to take a much needed nap!! My fur babies even cuddled up for a nap too, normally Sophie (cat) dislikes Jack a lot so it's nice to see them snuggled together!!
@mrsdbc me too. I did an elective to find out the sex because my husband wasn't going to be able to be there for the a/s. We are doing another elective 3d when his mom comes to visit because she really wants to be a part of the pregnancy process. She lives 14 hrs away and I'm hoping this pacified her enough to keep her out of l&d when the baby is born

I hope your Sophie is a sweetheart cuz mine can be evil!! Lol. Don't get me wrong she can be sweet but if you pet her wrong she'll bite! Oh and taking her to the vet is just embarrassing, she's the kind of cat they dread seeing in the appt book!!
Does anyone else only get two ultrasounds? I got my eight week and a/s and apparently that's it.
Typically yes. "normal" is a potential dating u/s ( if warranted by your OB) Nuchal u/s ( if you opt for the testing) a/s ( standard) and then if you're overdue, as I was with both DD and DS, they typically do one after 40 weeks to check fluid. I'm having one today only because they didn't get enough pictures of LOs heart and profile...

@lizardbreath14 pregnant women do not have to be involved in the fasting!
Yeah, I know, but I figured I would try to be a little modest with the food just to get me in the Lent mindset. So much for that! LOL! Man, I know square "fish" from McDonald's is not exactly everyone's cup of tea, but it was soooo delicious to me, it was like gourmet!
Yeah, a fish sandwich from McDonalds would definitely NOT be a gourmet feast for me! I would rather just fast!
any of you with other LOs or any knowledge on backyard playgrounds?
I've been looking at some to give as a joint birthday gift to DS and DD ( with family chipping in)
I found one at home depot ( which is great bc I can put whatever we don't have upfront on my card with no interest for 6 months
here's the link to one that looks good, but isn't too crazy expensive ( they can get up tp $4,000 +)not sure if I *should* spend more to make sure it will last? Anyone with input is much appreciated, though I do have a while as DD and DS's birthdays aren't until end of June/early July

@hubbs173 my Sophie is crazy! She's very tolerant with my toddler but normally the cat is insane. It's just this look she has in her eyes. The picture is from a year ago... But she hasn't changed much!
@ohyealovely That look is just like my cat! She plays really well with the kiddos but crazy is the way to describe her! I found out the hard way to maybe NOT name your cat after a vampire! I named her Esme from Twilight thinking she'd have the personality, loving, sweet. Nope.
@mrsdc I only get a lot bc I'm having twins. I am at the point where I get three a month now to check on them. If I were having singletons I'd only get like three total unless something happened they needed to check into!
SS: Speaking of that, I just got the call from my growth scan and both babies are growing well and equally, woohoo! They're about 1 1/2 lbs each. Little tanks! Grow girlies grow!
@lizardbreath14, I usually give up something for lent, but I decided I am not this year. Giving up alcohol for 9 months is penance enough.
LOL @erind228 - when people ask you what you're giving up for lent, you should answer with "alcohol and cigarettes". I bet you'd get a few people side eyeing you and you can just laugh in their face.
I just bought a used (but brand new bc the lady didn't know how to use it) sewing machine off Craigslist for $25. It works great. Also, I have ZERO clue how to sew, but YouTube is an amazing thing. So far I've made a burp cloth (it was my practice fabric) and finished my curtains for the nursery. I'm so excited (and I feel sooooo lame that I'm excited about a fucking sewing machine).

It was just a basic rectangle cloth, black and white chevron and cotton. I'm more excited about finishing the curtains! They don't look like crap half falling down thanks for the referral to the what are you making thread. I didn't think about looking there for inspiration
Also, it IS kinda fun

Also @shakeweights if you have an tutorial suggestions or favorite websites I'd love to know!
Where do you get your fabric? Back in the day I wanted to get into sewing but after investigation, the fabric here is way more expensive than just buying the thing you want to make.
I got it at JoAnn Fabrics. For the curtains, they were having a 50% off sale plus the day I bought it they were doing an additional 20% off for military. So I got $80 worth of fabric for about $32 I think. But I have seen some discount fabric stores online. One was pinkchalkfabrics.com. I have also seen tutorials on Pinterest where you can take old fabrics or clothes from goodwills/thrift stores and repurpose them (aka ugly dress into a cute skirt or whatever). I am just beginning though. Also, I'll probably never buy fabric that isn't already on sale with coupons or whatever because that shit IS expensive!

@BrightEyes112 - I always go to JoAnn's and I'll tell you why. I've gotten fabric at other places and there was one time I happened to be by a Hancock Fabrics and bought something there for my friends LO. She loved the blanket so much that my friend asked me to make a back up one. I went back and the fabric was gone. And that wasn't that long after I made it. I have much better luck going back and finding something I like again at JoAnn's...that's why I frequent there. AND, their coupons are awesome. You can get coupons in your email, on their mobile app and in the mail and you can use them all in the same transaction. OH - and if you're ballsy enough to go shopping there on Black Friday - the deals are amazing and I stock up on supplies like no other!
@jshrop - I literally taught myself. My dad taught me how to use a sewing machine when I was a kid and that was about it for teachings. I love YouTube and mommy blogs and Pinterest Pinterest is my favorite. Here is my crafty idea board and here is my baby things board - I can definitely send you something with what I've tried so far and what I like to repeatedly make if you'd like!
My husband is trying to "cook" dinner for himself and just made boxed Mac and cheese. He somehow managed to screwed it up. God help us if I need to rely on him for meals after the baby comes!
I have a sewing board on my pinterest! I don't have the link right now, but it should have a bunch of tutorials and patterns and some even for free! That's so exciting!
The Hubs just said he got another tracking email from Zulily and now there are 5 packages inbound. I laughed and asked what he ordered. He ordered a onesie, a dress, matching head band and booties and another headband. And here I thought I'd be the one buying up stuff for baby girl. Nope! It's all daddy. But it does make me smile
@nellebelle Thanks for the input! I wouldn't be purchasing until mid June and would have DH, FIL, and possibly his uncle and brother. His Dad is very much a DIY-er and built a treehouse and other projects in his own home, so I'm hopeful it would be enough man-power. Plus DH does some carpentry at his work. I know other reviews said it was at least a 12hour job with a crew around 3-4. Glad to hear a positive review from a "reallife" person, thanks

Re: **Tuesday 3/04 AW/SS/Random Thoughts**
But you're such a troublemaker on here, if it were your post I would automatically assume shenanigans!
Me. The only way I'd get a third is if I was overdue and they need to check fluid levels.
