Age to start Medium Flow nipple?

DD keeps stopping in the middle of her bottle lately (about 1.5-2 weeks) and I feel like she is getting bored and when she does finish it takes FOREVER (like 45 mins)...when should I move to Medium Flow nipple? She is almost 12 weeks....and we are using Playtex drop-ins. Oh and she is FF. Thanks!

    DD had same issue with the playtex nipples... are they the brown nipples or the clear silicone?? I went and bought new ones that were silicone and they were marked "slow" but they were much faster, odd I know. BUT she was MUCH happier... we actually just moved to the fast ones this week.

    we are using the clear slow ones, I have the medium clear ones but have not used them yet

    You could try a medium and see.  Around 3 months I thought DS was ready for Born Free #2; he wasn't.  The formula leaked out of the sides of his mouth - big time.  I switched back to #1's and tried again a couple weeks later - then they were fine.

    We tried the medium flow ones with DS last week and he tolerated it fine during the feeding but threw up a ton after, I think from drinking it all too fast. We tried it again and same thing. So we are back to the slow for now.

    Last night, I accidentally had a stage 2 nipple on the bottle for DS.  He got 2.5 oz in like 3 minutes, before I figured out what was going on.  Poor guy was a gassy mess all night after that. It usually takes him like 20 minutes to finish a 5 oz bottle!! So, he wasn't ready, we figured that out!

    we switched to playtex medium at 4 months.  he was taking 30 minutes to finish 4 ounces on the slow nipples.  now he does 5-6 ounces in 15-20 minutes.  the faster flow has not affected his breastfeeding either, we're still doing fine at that.

    DD is 5+ months old and the medium flow silicone playtex nipples are still too fast for her.  I think it depends on your baby.
