For anyone who went to and/or sent their child/ren to a Montessori preschool or if you are at all considering a Montessori preschool, would you take a moment to educate me?
I haven't even Googled it, I know nothing and I'm most interested in WHY you chose it.
What is it that made it different from a play-based preschool?
I'd love to hear everything you've got as I just finished our interviews/tours of the preschools in our area and budget and I literally just realized we didn't even consider Montessori but not on purpose.
Can anyone help inform me?

A school doesn't have to be fully accredited, but every teacher should be accredited. There is instruction, bc teachers the kids new materials via "presentations", and they assist the kids as needed. The kids also help clean and take care of the room. We're looking into a 6-9 y o program for my son. I really like the philosophy.
