Re: **Tuesday 3/04 AW/SS/Random Thoughts**
I've been starting to go a little crazy with buying baby stuff. On the 14th is a huge baby sale in our area and hubby and I are considering taking the day off work so we can be there the first day and snag all the good stuff! I'm also becoming obsessed with cloth diapers, I need to stop buying so many but they're really cute and now that I've noticed I have mostly boy colors I just HAVE to get girl colors too ya know!
I have nothing prepared for this baby. This is my third and we are team green, so I guess there really isn't much to do. We only have three bedrooms, so this baby will be put in with a sibling at some point.( We are trying to move, but the town we live in is kind of......well, blah) Anyway, there really isn't much for us to do, but I am kind of feeling like I NEED to do something.
Also, last night I was talking to my daughter as she was getting ready for bed. (She is 3) I was saying how she was getting so big. She told me that she wants to be a mommy like me when she gets big. It was so sweet. Then, she says: " I will also grow big boobs like you, Mommy." Kids are so funny!
We just bought a new (used) car and I'm super excited about it! It's a Honda CRV which I have wanted forever and we found a great deal and it's just good timing for us. My former car will become DH's car and his car is getting kicked to the curb because it's tiny and we can't actually fit two tall adults and two car seats in it safely. I love that DH volunteered to take my older car to allow me to drive the CRV.
Random in-law related question.
My IL's don't do baby showers, and no one really had a Christening/Baptism (DH, his siblings, his cousins, etc).
My mother is throwing me a baby shower, and we're having a baptism. This is normal for my family.
I was thinking about it today and I think it might be weird for my IL's to get invitations to one of these events, nevermind two of them. Weird as in... annoying? I don't know. No one has said anything negative about it, but I feel like a little uncomfortable because I don't want to come off as gift-grabby or be put anybody out. The shower is a gift-thing, I suppose, but the baptism is really just important to me.
Of course, they should only come if they want to and they should only bring a gift if they feel comfortable. I just don't want them to judge us for being 'over the top' or something. I don't plan on cutting back with my family, but I feel obligated to invite DH's family because I don't want to leave them out, either.
I guess this is all just a random thought at this point. Is anyone in the same position? Am I overthinking it? Do I just invite everyone and let them decide what they want to do?
I didn't sleep at all last night and almost fell asleep driving today. It scared the ish out of me.
Thanks @lizardbreath14 @elsa1688 and @pepper6. It's a good point that these aren't weird or 'new' events.
I kind of just hope they come for DH's sake.
Is Ikea an option (as in located not too far from one)? We are using a chest of drawers dresser as the changing table. Just attaching the pad to the top. We got the Malm one which is 63" but there are smaller ones (around your need) in different collections.
@abastian00 and @MegK82 I am so sorry to hear about the fur babies. So hard to see them in discomfort. Hope they both have a quick and easy recovery! Oh and FUCK cancer is right!!
I just signed up for prenatal classes today and got the last spot. Thank you DH for reminding me to look into that, I always knew he had to be good for something.
Edit: Not all dressers are too skinny, just something to keep in mind while looking. I'm going with the Ikea hemnes for a dresser/change table.
@ugabamafans I love Juliana.
My SS moment is I bought our first brand new washer/dryer set today!! I am so excited! It's kind of pathetic.
I have repeat c-section so I'm trying to remember what all happened with DD. It felt kinda weird dropping DS off at the ILs, knowing I was going to have a baby in couple hrs and I felt totally normal. Anyways, we had preregistered so we just checked in and went up to the room (they kinda freaked out a bit when we said I was there to have a baby 'are you ok? Do you want a wheelchair?').
The nurses got me prepped, and put a catheter in without the spinal (ouch) then wheeled me to the OR. All in all it didn't take that long, an hour or more maybe.
It felt really repetitive, like they asked the same questions over and over, which they probably do at any surgery, like if you have any known allergies, etc...
Will you get a spinal or epidural? I've gotten spinal both times and this last time they made my leg jump when they put the needle in my back... That was really weird!
Not sure if that really answers your questions and I'll put in more as I remember. Crazy pregnancy brain, not really I just have a bad memory!

I can sorta sympathize, with my ILs. They are the extremely old fashioned, family (which we sorta are too, I'm the SAHM while DH is the sole bread winner) and I can totally tell they feel like their poor son is a hen-pecked, neglected baby. I posted once in the UO about how some of them thought it was terrible how I wouldn't turn DHs socks right side out and I wouldn't wash them either.
You have it way worse though. They'd never say that to our faces, but sometimes it's stressful just getting the disapproving vibe from them, if you know what I mean.
It sure is nice that DH has your back too
