I'm working in getting our guest room cleaned out. We've pretty much found where all of the furniture is going (to other family) but now we have to get it there. With atheist lousy weather and me working 6 days a week we haven't been able to move it. I'm hoping it happens soon since we have our a/s on Thursday and are hoping LO cooperates so we can find out the sex.
We've started working on the nursery a few weeks ago. My 16 week ultrasound said we're having a boy, but of course that isn't set in stone. However, since our theme is gender neutral, we were able to get started on the nursery before our A/S. So far we've painted the room, tore up the floor boards, put in a new carpet, put up new molding, and put it a ceiling fan/light. My mom and sisters bought me the baby crib and bedding set for my shower and sent it early, so I've been able to get that set up. I've also sewed a quilt and some matching pillows.
I'm with @V1981. I haven't done much more than tape lots of paint samples to the wall. Our a/s is Friday and my mom will be in town this weekend so I suspect that we will get a lot done while she is here.
I have a Pinterest board ready to go for baby's room but haven't shown any of it to DH yet. He actually has an opinion on all that stuff, so hopefully he doesn't hate what I came up with.
You ladies are doing a lot of cute, awesome stuff.
I haven't started anything but I have started to prep. I need to clean out and re-organize our guest room/office as well as put some of the furniture into storage. Then I can paint or put up wall paper.
I have gotten wall paper samples and paint samples. I know what crib, etc I want but not ordering it until the room is cleared out and painted/wall papered.
We are doing a Superhero theme for our little man. I've ordered some prints. I'm thinking of doing the walls grey with light blue, red and navy accents.
We're going to start cleaning out/up the room today. Our A/S is Tuesday where we'll hopefully find out the sex, so I'm sure after that I'll slowly start thinking of color/themes...whatever. I'm really not too "nesty" feeling with the nursery yet......but the rest of my house I have been cleaning and organizing like crazy. Sure the shift will happen soon. : )
Lol my nursery had been painted since before we were pregnant. Moved in and the room was neon green and neon blue on opposing walls. Only wanted to paint once. New additions are the dresser for change table and glider. Will do a bit more decorating maybe some more decals
Started painting! Repainted the white walls, one wall will be light green and a brown trim around the whole room. We are doing a forest theme and I fell in love with Carter's Forest Friends items. Already have the crib bedding and a few decor items. Can't wait to start setting up the room when the painting is done!
Well, thanks to this thread, I got my rear in gear and have completely organized all of my yarn and things for storage. Now DH and I have to move it all and then it's time for paint!
I've been in the process of starting to get the nursery ready. We're currently using it as a guest/storage room so I need to move all of the furniture and stuff out and put it into our empty guest room. We've looked at paint colors. We've decided to do gray walls and the wall behind the crib will be an accent of gray stripes. Started looking into furniture but am now getting antsy to buy as soon as we get the guest bed into the other room! So many ideas, I can't wait to really get them started.
@pinksundrops thank you for the Hobby Lobby pictures! Those are adorable & I definitely think I need to make a trip soon!
If by nesting you mean making myself a comfy nest of pillows and blankets in my bed that I will not have to leave unless absolutely necessary. Then yes. Lol.
We are going to be moving before the baby comes and I don't really know if it will have its own room or share with us or anything.
We bought paint! Haha. And this weekend realized the crib/furniture we originally picked wasnt going to work for us, so we went out and chose a new crib and new furniture. Kid is officially going to have more clothing storage than me. Haha. Now we have to paint and actually buy the furniture.
Like many of you the nursery is currently the man-cave at our house. DH is a musician (used to be professionally, now just a hobby) but his electric drum set is set up in the nursery and it is apparently not an easy thing to dismantle. Plus we have gads of enormous speakers in there (and other things I don't know the names of) that I'm not able to move myself (or touch normally, apparently I like to push buttons and that's bad). But DH is not ready for nesting yet.
In the meantime I've been trying to declutter the spare bedroom to make room for said speakers and drum set and other whatnots so when DH is ready it'll be ready for him!
I've also picked out a paint color and bought a few things for the nursery and have been pinning like crazy.
I'm so jelly of the organization and craftiness of you guys! DH is working hard on building another bedroom and bathroom onto our house in order to accommodate our expanding family. I think he is nesting more than I am. I'm really looking forward to having a tub though! It's tough only having a shower when trying to bathe a 1 yr old.
Since we are having another girl, everything than can be re-used from DD1 will be. She's already in a toddler bed, so her crib and bedding set will be perfect.
I hate the glider we bought for her room, so if I can find another one at a reasonable price I will so buy it. So to warn the FTMs out there, make sure to really try out the gliders! I'm kinda tall for a woman, and the glider we have is just not comfortable for me. Plus, after using it for nursing, I'd rather a chair that has removable covers for washing.
We've been busy. After the elective u/s, DH is 100% on board with girl and willing to repaint if it was wrong so moved ahead.
The nursery was my craft/wedding room before, and previous owners had sponged the ceiling nasty... so I painted the ceiling back to white and the walls to gray. DH did the argyle and I added the glitter. He's currently working on refinishing the (wood) floors since previous people finished around a carpet.
We ordered a chair/glider that we need to pick up and found a large vintage dresser to refinish for changing table awesomeness.
Obviously, we need to add the wood back on top of the window (argyle pic), and touch up the ceiling, and put the crown moulding back up. DH is making the crib, I've made a couple sheets and will do the curtains and find sheepskin for a carpet and we picked out a chandelier.
my husband is slowly getting everything in his mancave a new location and taking over the garage more. Just as soon as my tax return comes in I will be free to do all that i need to do to set up the nursery as well as my bedroom cause i plan to get a bed side sleeper for my little one for the first few months.
I want to start nesting really bad but i'm stuck on hold until money and the space is completely free.
Yes. I we got our crib and changing table/storage shelf put together. Along with curtains and name art. It's so fun and feels great! : ) I think I would have slept in there if DH didn't think I was crazy ; )

@ahjahbaba Where did you get that storage shelf?! Love it!
5 years TTC, no luck with IUI's, failed IVF June 2013,
FET Oct 2013 with delayed transfer, intralipids, lovenox & prednisone= first BFP of my life!
We have everything we need ready to go, but our landlord and good friend has been using the baby's room/spare room as storage (and knocking money off rent, so no complaints). SO is out of the country for a friends wedding, but when he gets back he's helping the landlord move his stuff so we can start!
I've already moved into the crazed, clean the house all night type of nesting, and SO started getting nesty himself when we found out it was a girl... He's a real crafty/handy guy so he wants to start making everything. I've just begun a few small crafts here and there, we have paint picked out and purchased, and I'm not allowed to paint the furniture until he's back because I'm impatient and like to skip steps can't wait to start though!
Edited because mobile keeps posting my posts mid sentence (
I think about nesting a lot, but then I get overwhelmed and just sit on the couch and binge on a netflix marathon of a random show instead of accomplishing anything. I won't be getting started on the nursery until DH gets back in April, but there are tons of other things I want to get done (like organizing closets and truly finishing unpacking from when we moved in back in MARCH!).
However, I did buy some curtains for the nursery (yellow and white chevron from West Elm), and picked up some paint swatches to try to decide on a color. We were originally planning on yellow/gray/white regardless of sex. DH and I were both completely against pink... but now I have this idea in my head of the curtains with pale pink walls and white furniture mixed with other neutrals (beige, gold, gray, etc.). Pretty sure I will not be able to get DH on board though.
Yes!!! We got the room all painted this weekend and all the furniture ordered! I have every piece of decor picked out and just have to get it!! I'm so excited for my little boy!!!

Had to share We've made major progress on the nursery!
I made two panorama collages, one of the room just starting on the remodel (with the room full of crap) and one how it looks now
We covered the terrazzo floors with wood, drywalled over a problematic window (sounds crazy, but was actually the best solution), painted, put in new trim, and new mirrored closet doors. Yay, baby room!!
Is anyone else not planning on setting up a nursery!?
We have a 2YO - who is still in his crib. We live in a 950 sq meter apartment with two bedrooms - so his room is also my husband's home office and has a futon for guests.
Our plan is for the baby to sleep in a side-car co-sleeper bed (just like Charlie did) for the first 3-6 months. At that point we may look at transitioning C to a toddler bed - but probably not earlier (I want to wait until he is 3, as per much advice I have read).
If we end up needing to move the baby out of our room earlier, we will probably just use our GoCrib until C is ready to transition. (and probably, at that point, the futon will have to go)
So basically my nesting involves:
reorganizing the house
sprucing up the changing table (C is still in diapers but we change him on the floor or standing)
finding a place for LOs clothes.
Oh, and hauling all the newboard gear out of our basement - but I don't plan on doing that until I am on maternity leave (mid may).
We did buy an Expedit shelf for our play area and it looks SO much better and is easier to clean up. Thank goodness for that.

The colors of the bedroom for now will be tan, white and baby blue. When he grows out of the crib, I will transition to more aqua blues. It is our guest room as well, so the beach theme will stick around after he moves into his brothers room later.
I started going through the baby's room. I was storing all the DD's old clothes and some other clothes that we had gotten for free and organized them by size. I bigger sizes away. I went through DD's closet and organized the rest of her bigger clothes. We set up her new bed for when she is ready to transition to it, which we aren't going to push.
I made this artwork for DD's room:
And the nursery was decorated like this when we moved in:
And we had picked out this bedding set when we were Team Green with DD:
I am excited to actually get to hang up the decorations at came with the bedding set this time since our house was on the market when DD was born, so we didn't decorate a nursery.
