  No idea why I'm stuck in grey.....I am so sorry that you got such scary news. I know how scary it is that something might be wrong with your little one. We were told our lo might have downs syndrome and i've never known this kind of fear. I'll keep you in my prayers. Hugs

  BFP#2 7/3/13.  U/S at 6w4d showed 1 heartbeat at 127 bmp and 2 empty sacs.  MMC discovered at 10w4d.  D&C 8/27/13.  Pathology showed normal boy.  Missing our babies every day.
  BFP#3 10/29/13!  Beta#1 at 4w5d - 2141, beta#2 at 5w1d - 7651!  U/S 11/21/13 showed baby measuring 2 days ahead with a heartbeat of 127 bmp!

  I am sorry you got a scare - hope it turns out to be nothing. A family friend had their baby and upon delivery found out she had spina bifida. She is doing great now, probably somewhere around 12 years old. She had legs braces and that is about it - has a great life and this was at least 10 years ago without preparation or knowing before delivery. T&Ps

  Prayers for better news on Monday! FWIW my OB had me do the blood test (AFP maybe?) for spina bifida b/c she said that is one condition that can possibly be treated with surgery before the baby is even born.   Congrats on your baby girl!
  I'm a pediatric PT so I have worked with kids with Spina bifida. The one thing I will say is that there is a huge range in severity. Stay off of Google!
  Good luck on Monday, I hope this was a false alarm!

  Praying for you and hoping it turns out not to be spina bifida.  I do not have experience with this, but am dealing with another issue that has brought me to read about the MOMs (Management of Myelomeningocele) trial.  The study is regarding the surgical treatment of spina bifida in utero vs. postnatal.  IF it turns out spina bifida (which I pray for you that it doesn't), I recommend reading about this study.

  I had high risk of Spina Bifida. 1/14 chance, had my scan and everything is fine. Best of luck- but just remember its a chance of it NOT a diagnosis. It is usually sue to high AFP levels in your blood, doesn't necessarily mean its SB. Good Luck
