Exciting news about a new community feature!

Coming soon: Social Groups!

What are social groups? This feature will allow members to create personalized groups, invite-only groups and private groups on The Bump.

There will be three types of groups users can create. Social groups can be 1) public; 2) invite only to post but visible to all; or 3) private - invite only to post and invite only to view.

One thing to note: Social groups will not be moderated by The Bump, but it is expected you follow the same community rules while in the groups. Private or not, we urge you not to share any personal information.

Look out for this new feature next week!

This could be a great alternative to the fb group, though. I would love to connect a bit more with the June mommas who are local to me.

@krptcmschfmkr128 Yeah but have you ever been on them? They're a clusterfuck and the one for my area at least wasn't about making connections with other people, it was solely for recommendations on daycares, etc. Just my opinion though!

I'm moving back to the area I grew up in soon- Southern Illinois. The ONLY "local" board set up for Illinois is Chicago. I'll be living 5 hours south of Chicago, so the local boards don't really apply to me.

However, I agree with everyone that this sounds like drama waiting to happen. I'll be staying right here with this lovely group of ladies.

Ah. Mine isn't too bad. Recommendations for stuff, but also moms looking to meet up with other moms. It's just pretty slow, too.

I'm staying here. This doesn't seem like a good idea, no matter who makes a group of what kind, someone is going to feel excluded, and we've stuck together like an awesome, (sometimes dysfunctional, but in a good way), family this far by using the reguar board, so why change it and add confusion to our nice organized board? If it's not broke, lets not fix it. Please.

Dislike this idea. I see the local board argument, mine is NY and there is a huge difference between NYC and NY State (but regardless the board is painfully slow all around.) Still, I don't think we need these separate groups.
