Re: ~~~~~March Type 1 Check in~~~~~
I just have never had luck on my stomach. It always freaks out too quickly and just isn't as comfortable. I need to try the upper ass/back of the hips area.
@starla487 - I'm a side sleeper so that'd be rough for me. I think my next spot will be upper asscheek.
ETA: For what it's worth, it's on my thigh and I don't plan on moving it until she tells me I have to.
34 weeks and 1 day.
My last (and first!) A1C was 6.4 and that was 2 months after being diagnosed.
I have another question. Sorry, I'm new to this whole pregnancy thing!
What does everyone eat for breakfast? I'm struggling with my after-breakfast BGs. This morning I had 2 pieces of toast, scrambled eggs, 1/2 caf coffee and shot up to 215. My highest BG yet but I've been going up to the 160s-180s after bfast so I'm looking for some tips.
I eat within an hour of waking up, wondering if maybe waiting a bit would help too. I need to make an appointment with a nutritionist.
@starla487 - that was me yesterday. I'd spike and then come crashing down and would chill around 70 until it was time to eat again. Rinse and repeat. Really want to prevent those jumps in BG!! This is hard.
However, this morning I had a Whole wheat english muffin with PB and so far I'm 95 and stable. Yay! I'm sure I'll be at like, 50, in an hour.
@tpete12 - keep us posted on what the doc says!
My endo and OB did tell me (prior to pregnancy) that routine will be my best friend. They said that many pregnant T1s eat the same breakfast and lunch every day. Like you, the thought bores the shit out of me. I'm going to see a nutritionist at some point so hopefully she can give me at least a few options.
I was diagnosed 17 years ago but have never had good control over my BS. My body reacts differently every day. Grr. So I tend to be a bad diabetic. In my mind, if my BS will be bad no matter how hard I try, then why should I bother trying so hard? It's frustrating, and bad, I know.
I wore a pump from 2005-2012 and hated it. Now I'm on MDI of novolog and levemir (2x daily).
How far along are you? or how many months TTC or PP?
28 weeks, due May 21.
How have your BS been running lately? How have you been feeling?
For the most part, they have been better than ever throughout this pregnancy. In December, I had my lowest A1C ever of 6.6. Lately, they have been really high, especially the last few days, like 200-300+.
Any appointments or A1C updates you would like to share?
I have my 30 week US next week and see my endo in 2 weeks. I don't expect my A1C to be nearly as good this time, which I'm disappointed about. But I love my doctor, and I hope that she can help me get this back under control.
Any questions for the group?
I guess like @JessicaG9289 said, if anyone else has had a lot of trouble with control and if/how it may have affected their baby. LO's heart looked good at the fetal echo and so far, my docs are happy with how he looks overall, but I'm nervous about what they can't predict.
QTKY: What are you looking forward to the most this month?
Hopefully warm weather, plus DH and my first wedding anniversary next weekend.
Thanks for doing this, ladies! I look forward to getting to know you guys and being successful together.
Edit because mobile formatting is hard.
We are just now starting to conceive consistently. I am also 13 months PP. My daughter just turned 13 months on Saturday.
My sugars have been doing great! I am trying to lose some weight so sometimes they get low but otherwise great. My last A1C was very good. I was around a 5, I believe.
This month I am pretty boring! Not much to report
Congrats to all the upcoming bundles of joy!
TTC starting this month- currently in the 2WW...
My last A1C was 6.8%... I had it down to 5.2% during my last pregnancy.
