Hoping you can sleep soon. Maybe LO will sleep in?

  • I'm up feeding LO, can't stop thinking about my MIL and what she said. Last night she texted DH at 9pm saying she's thinking of coming over tomorrow, she misses DD. I was like umm did she ask, I'm so confused. DH was like no, I was like we just saw her last weekend!! Sorrynotsorry I want my weekend with my DH and DD, not MIL too. Also, don't just invite yourself over. Makes me crazy.

  • @sventurarn that's so annoying! Why bring them over in the first place?? You gotta love MILs.

Is DD her first grandchild? If so I can kind of understand. Still doesn't excuse inviting herself over
  • I'm awake. Trying to get LO to finish eating so I can pump my one side.

    Yawn.
  • My mom is staying with us til may/ June and then we will start daycare once he's around 6 mo. I'm getting tired of my Mil playing the jealousy game and making snooty remarks. She has 6 other grand kids and quit bitching that we never come to visit when we live 6 hours away. We come multiple times a year had are forced to board the dogs because you won't even let us have then in your unfinished basement laundry room. But yet it's too far of a drive for them to come visit us only once a year?! They came after LO was born and didn't even stay 24 hours.... Yes, gotta love mil!

Nope DD is her fourth grandchild. I just don't like when she invites herself over at 9pm the night before and she has a habit of coming at 10am and staying until 10pm. She just did this last weekend. It's way too long of a time and it's exhausting entertaining her, making meals, being her venting outlet etc. It just can't be an every single weekend thing.

  • @eggerkr I'm almost afraid to ask. What kind of remarks?

@ mbmo2 Jesus! I'm tired just reading about it! I'm guessing she doesn't take hints very well.
  • @sventurarn she emails my mom everuother day saying she's jealous she gets to be with J everyday. Also when they came to visit she emailed DH after they left and said we should get rid of the dogs because she doesn't trust them. The dogs could careless about j's presence and are more concerned about just sleeping in our room on their pillows at night/ during the day.

  • I'm up with LO. He's at the tail end of a bout with RSV. He's still coughing and snorting. Ugh. Went to the ped yesterday(who btw looks like Brick breeland from Hart of Dixie) and found out LO is now 16.5 lbs. Maybe that's why I wake up starving in the motn. Ps I would have eaten all the donuts and been pissed at MIL. Mine works at a chocolate shop and does the same thing to me every time she visits. I say no treats fore and she brings a crap ton.

Not at all, it's rough. She literally would be here every weekend and a few nights a week if we let her. She obviously just loves DD but we need time as a family alone without her presence. Plus, I want to see my family, she thinks it's all about when she wants to see DD. Anyways, it's just frustrating.

  • @eggerkr ugh. Is she a drama queen? Sounds like shes trying to stir the pot

@macadamia03 hope LO gets well soon! Seeing them sick is the worst. And the only thing keeping me from those donuts was my desire to show MIL up for deliberately bringing them. Why do they do it??
  • Side note from the mil rants... Our bathroom is sandwhiched between our room and the nursery. Is it gross I don't flush in the middle of the night to avoid waking LO up?
    Pregnancy Ticker image image
  • @sventurarn she sure is! I get tired of her parenting advice. She keeps telling me j will sleep better on his stomach when he has his witching hour as it was the only say DH would calm down, continually tell her no and why...And this is why she will never babysit!

During his baptism she flipped out because I let my SIL hold him before she got to. We both rolled our eyes!

Good morning all! I'm up feeding LO. I'm in a vent mood. LO had the hardest time Fallon asleep last night. For whatever reason I was miserable yesterday. I go back to work in 3 weeks and the thought of daycare breaks my heart. DS likes to be walked around and carried. How can she do that with 4 other kids. I just imagine him crying all day! I know I'm overreacting but I can't help it! :(
  • I'm up feeding LO for the second time. I like my MIL I & she adores Libby (her 4th grandchild, but the first in the same city as MIL). But she baby talks all the time & it drives me absolutely crazy!

Don't get me wrong, I use a baby voice too. So do DH, my parents, & everyone else! But when MIL baby talks she says "her so pretty, her so sweet, her misses her nana, etc" instead of "she/she is". I don't know why this rubs me the wrong way, but it's like nails on a chalkboard every single time...

    This would drive me insane!!!!
I love my ILs. They are divorced but still get along very well. I pretty much can't stand their new SOs. They both live in small condos with their SO's and neither of them have invited us over. FIL lives 5 minutes away and MIL lives about 25. Big close enough that we could go their with LO for a visit. But they only like to come here. Which is fine with me but if you want t see DS more than you're going to have to invite us over. My DH complains that my family gets to see DS more than his. Well they call and invite is over a couple times a week. I usually have to make up excuses and turn them down. Once a weeks is plenty.

On another note... Been up three times with DS so far. If I have to sit through another feeding listening to DH snore I may just smother him with his pillow!! I'm ok with him sleeping through the weeknight feedings since I'm not working! But he could help out on the weekends!

  • I'm up bc LO doesn't understand weekend. She's happy and playing but man I wish it was a little later. DH did the 4:45 feeding and she slept a little after but she's just ready to be up for the day now.

I actually had my husband talk to MIL about this when DD1 was born. I do t kind the baby voice but I insist on using real words and proper grammar. My justification is every time we talk to her she is learning and I want her to learn the correct way to say things so we don't have to re teach later. I don't know how much water my theory holds but it made me feel less annoyed by her when she talks to the girls.

  • I'm annoyed with DH because he signed DD1 up for r he next round of swim lessons without talking to me and picked the Saturday morning slot. He works mornings on Saturday so this just means yet another day in the week that I have to get both girls up and out the door with no help from him. It's a little thing that makes me remember that he has no idea what it is like to wrangle two girls all day by myself :(
I want to talk to him about it but I'm delaying so I can plan out exactly what to say because I know it is more than just the swim lessons.

She was up again at 630. DH held for a bit to let me sleep in but ended up being so noisy that I woke up anyway :/

  • Well.. I'm sitting here stuck in the bathroom without toilet paper once again..Everyone's at my house while we're getting snowed in, it looks like a tornado rolled through and it's giving me anxiety.
  • My DH's entire fam is coming to stay with us this week for 10 days. 6 adults and a one year old. And because they didnt ask when a good time would be to come, DH is working the entire time they are here. Including the weekend. It is freezing here, with tons of snow and there is almost nothing to do.

Ideas for entertaining in the frozen tundras would be greatly appreciated. >.<

Not taking mil side. But have you tried his stomach? DS sometimes sleeps really well on his stomach, especially if he's gassy or in need of pooping. It makes his belly stop hurting.

I only will let him be on his stomach when in holding him on my chest and if I know he has a belly ache I flip him over and use my thigh or fore arm to apply the light pressure. DH does the Arm one much better than me.

  • I don't think belly sleeping is as bad as everyone makes it to be. If it was pretty much all of us wouldn't be here. The past 3 nights C will only sleep on her belly or she screams all night. As long as you don't have a million blankets and pillows and stuffed animals it's fine. I'm more worried about her sleeping on her back and choking on spit up than sleeping on her tummy. She has never slept on her back since I brought her home.

Ugh, that is rough. Museums? Movies? The mall? Sledding? Bake cookies at home? I'm stumped.

  • I'm prepared to get told to stop whining. ..

LO woke in the night last night. Twice. She's been sleeping from 8pm to 7am without waking for over a week. Waah! I don't like getting up at night. But she was poopy both times, so diaper and feed it was!

  • LO usually sleeps on his left side. He rolls that way when I lay him on his back. I worry that he will develop a flat spot.

I just got annoyed with DH. He left 45 minutes ago to go plow his dads driveway and pick up breakfast. I was already hungry at that point. He just called and said he's going to go plow somewhere 15 minutes away. So it'll be at least another hour until he is back. Bring me my breakfast!

Update - apparently his dad decided to go plow 2 neighbors drives and my SILs. I also don't get breakfast anymore.

Totally this! My in laws live 2 hrs away and they have never come to meet LO. My parents have flown out twice from across the country. Plus we are moving across the country in two weeks and they are not planning to visit before we leave.
  • My LO slept 8 hours lady night. Was probably because yesterday was my 1st day back to work and ate less than 1 ounce in the 8 hours I was gone :(
    Hoping she eats more today.
Also I only pumped once that whole time. My work is so fast paced it makes it hard to stop and pump :(

DH is driving me crazy with his flip flopping on us moving. One day he's all for it and the next he says absolutely not. He needs to make up his fucking mind already! We have an opportunity to move into something with a bigger kitchen, that has a pool and playroom for the kids and STORAGE and he's bitching that moving is a PITA. Ugh!!!!!

Also I am very disappointed that CA is not an option for us (just too expensive). I feel like I've been banished to live in the tundra forever. Or at least until Spring arrives :)
