I am in love with my belly band

I mentioned in the "not worth starting a thread for" thread that I finally got a belly band today. Once I tried it on, it was totally worth starting a new thread. This thing is fantastic! I've barely been able to do up my pants for the past week and had to give up on belts for a week or two before that. It's been so uncomfortable and awkard looking. The band feels fantastic and my pants look so much better. Should have done this sooner!

@Tifers777 I got the BeBand from Target. It's by the same company that makes the Bella Band but it's about half the price of the Bella Band, at least here in Canada.

@blibby0713 It's totally worth it if your current pants are getting really uncomfortable.

  • Yes! I love mine! I've been putting off getting out my stash of maternity clothes but I think the permanent yoga pants aren't cutting it anymore. Gotta get out the BeBand at least!

  • I love mine!! I got the BeBand from Target, as well! It was a little under $20 and worth every penny. I purchased the black, and I plan on getting the other two color options this weekend (white and cream). I love that I can still wear my pre-pregnancy pants and I don't have to spend a fortune on maternity clothes! I would HIGHLY recommend them!

  • I have a black one from target and then bought a white one and a gray one from motherhood maternity. Words can't express how much I love them!

  • O I love mine too!!

  • I've been wearing mine since week 9 - and am hoping to be able to wear it until I can do some black Friday shopping for actual maternity clothes! They are definitely a God send though!!
  • I have Target's Be Band too. I can't say that I am in love with it but it's working. I have really wide hips so whenever I sit the band tends to roll up. SUPER ANNOYING! It does help a little bit, glad that I have it but I'm looking forward to parting with it.

I just ordered some Mat jeans from the Gap so I think I will be in those pretty soon. My work clothes (I work in an office) are still okay. the Be Band doesn't work at all with dress pants. For me anyway.

  • Does anyone have experience with the BeBand and Bella Band? I know they're from the same company, but does one work better than the other? Don't mind paying extra for the Bella Band if it does the job better.

  • I think I read another post a while back that this style of band also helps give you the much hoped for shapely bump, as opposed to the B-shaped bump. :D

I have a black one as well and have only wore it once.  Just curious how do you wear it?  I've heard of some just wearing it over your jeans and then another person told me to wear it under and then fold half of it over where the pants would buckle.  Just curious what works best for you.
I had not heard of this option before and am so glad you posted! I am wearing one today and just had it over my pants. I read this and changed it to as your friend suggested and it's much for comfy!!! :)

This is where I confess that I had to youtube it because I wasn't sure if you were supposed to step into it and pull it up or if it went over your head, tube top style, to get it on in the first place!

I wore it over my jeans because that's what the video and all the photos I saw showed. Never thought about the other method. It doesn't seem as secure to me but I will give it a try.

I have both. I bought the Bella Band first at a maternity store and I really love it. Then I noticed Target sells the Be-Band for like 1/2 the price and bought a white one because I was wearing my black one EVERYDAY. Honestly, I like the Bella Band a bit better, the little rubber strip in it that grips on to your pants prevents it from riding up as much, but in my opinion it's not worth paying double the price (The Be Band does not have the rubber strip, but that is the only difference. Both the Bella and Be bands need *slight* adjusting throughout the day, but the bigger your bump gets the less adjusting it needs.

You could get 2 Be Bands for the price of One Bella, and if I had gone to Target earlier, I would have never bought the Bella Band. I am very happy with both products, they really do prevent the need for expensive maternity pants for the first little bit, I can see holding off needing actually maternity pants until at least 20 weeks. (I'm waiting for the Fall Target maternity stuff to go on sale to stock up on pants and sweaters for when I will need them later).

  • Such a helpful thread ladies! I'm heading to Target right away! (My waist will be so thankful.)
  • I've been doing the under and roll over method... hmm.. I have to try the full panel method now!

  • I'm in awe that you've been able to get by without one until now!!  I bought mine at 10 weeks and quickly switched over to full panel maternity pants since with the belly bend I always felt like my butt crack was showing even though it wasn't!    :D

  • @spacepotatoes I think @firstimer2014 found this thread in the search and isn't a May 2014 mom.

I was half considering trying on my belly band last weekend for shits and giggles, because there is no way anything non-maternity is going to fit over my bump now!

  • @spacepatatoes I'm still able to use my belly band because I got myself a grey one that it one size up from recommended. Def not as comfy as it used to be, I only wear it when I really want to wear my jeans :D

That One Gal From Alaska :)

  • I'm 31 weeks and I still use my belly band all the time. My bump isn't huge yet though.
  • I have a belly band and a be band and they are slightly different, but one is not better than the other. Get the target one it's cheaper.

Who the heck still fits in these things?!! Holy crap. I haven't gained weight anywhere, but my belly and boobs, but I had to stop wearing it in December. Maybe it's because I carry low.
  • I have a BeBand and it rolls up constantly! At first I thought I was wearing it wrong but the darn thing just won't stay put no matter what I do. :( I do have to bend a lot for work but IDK I stopped using it. Now I use a madela (sp?) maternity support belt just for my back and it stays in place and works great.

  • Clearly I suck because I didn't notice the OP is actually from November.  At least I feel better about myself and my massive belly now :)

That's been my issue too. I have one pair of lower rise jeans that I was able to wear for a few weeks longer than everything else but by Christmas, even those were done.
