3rd Trimester

feels weird when baby kicks anterior placenta

During the second tri I wasn't feeling much in the area where the placenta is.  I did notice it felt funny during the a/s, kind of a thunk when the u/s wand would go over it.  Lately though, especially the last few days, the baby has been kicking the placenta or pulling on the cord or something.  I get the weirdest sensation from it.  Has anyone else experienced this?

  • It just feels very different in that spot.  More of a tugging sensation than the other side of my stomach.  I've had two others with posterior placenta and never experienced that feeling.

  • I have nothing to compare since this is all I know. I've seen him snuggling it and I'm sure he grabs it as well. But every tug I just assume is a kick, uncomfortable arm movement or jab to the cervix

I also have nothing to compare it too as that is all she kicks and punches as it is high and covers her essentially. To me they always feel like someone is punching my stomach through a bean bag but I have no idea what it feels like normally.

  • I also have an anterior placenta, at 31 WGA.  I get lots of kicks down low, then tumbles and kicks to either side and above.  Sometimes I can even feel it in my back/sacral area.  Interesting.  As long as you feel movement, that's all that matters.

Lurking...  ^^This.  Based on what my other currently or previously pg friends tell me, I suspect that the kicks I do feel are not as strong  as them because of the AP, but I feel them daily now in the same areas that buganne described...
