Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Angel Care Monitor thoughts??

Anyone have this and love it?  I am considering it since my son has decided he would like to roll over and sleep on his side and belly now.  I can't sleep.  I don't know much about them but doesn't it alarm if the baby stops breathing or if he would roll off of the monitor then would it alarm too?  I know they are kinda pricey but I think it would give me peace of mind.  But if it doesn't work I don't want to waste my money.  I wake up probably 20 times to check on him.  I tell my DH that I have OCD because I have to check on him like every 5 minutes and then I lay down to go to bed and usually get up 3 or 4 times before I will actually go to sleep.  I am way too paranoid I am sure but I just love the little guy and I want him to be ok.

  • Honestly, if your son is rolling, it will set off the alarm and just make you more paranoid than you already are.  At about 6-7 months is when we stopped using the sensor pad and just used the monitor after that.

  • I haven't had any problems, I upped the sensitivity level and it dosen't go off when she is anywhere in the crib, and even when she is standing.  Mine is now a tummy only sleeper and it really eases my mind.

I love mine, worth every penny!

  • I love mine. We've used it since birth. Dh refuses to let him sleep without it. We've had a few false alarms but most of those resolved themselves when we added a plywood board underneath the sensor pad and upped the sensitivity level. It was worth the money for us, but that's because we used it since birth. I myself wouldn't have bought it at 6 months but I wasn't OCD or losing sleep over it so that changes your circumstances.
