I got my first car in 2012. No, I'm not 17. Lol it was a Convertible Geo Metro (Google it), it was a ducking death trap. I didn't know how to drive until DH taught me at 22. Lolz
ETA: I named him Mamoru (sailor moon reference) until it pissed me off enough than it was just "my possible murderer"
I got a hand me down from my mom. A 1987 Monte Carlo. The thing was a beast. And the floorboard was rusted through behind the drivers seat so I had to warn people when they got in that they had to step over that spot...the carpet still covered it so I wasn't Flintstone's, but it was awful. It did cause a lot of guys to stop and talk to me though since they thought something was hanging from my car.

I had to drive one once. My friend twisted his ankle playing basketball so I drove him home in his car.
That shit had no power steering and it was a 3 cylinder. A 3 cylinder!! I think lawnmowers have bigger engines.
Me - 1991 White Ford Thunderbird. Also affectionately known as The Thunderchicken and The Bitch.
That thing was a POS. Got it in 2000 when I was a senior in HS.
My first was a 1998 gold Ford Thunderbird! It looked like POS but it was a V8 and I loved the power that thing had. Too bad I totaled it 6 months later.
A1992 Buick Regal that had been my grandpa's. Her name was Edna and the odometer didn't work so we had no idea how many miles were on it. It went through me and two younger siblings in high school until my brother drove her into the ground.
A Chevy S10 my senior year of HS. I loved that little truck. I would pack so many people in that thing. It was great until it starte to constantly overheat. Then the wipers stopped working and I would hang out of my window and wipe my windshield with a Tshirt. It was a sad day when my parents found that out and replaced it.
I got my first car when I was a sophomore in HS. It was a brand new Chevy Avalanche! Loved it so much and it makes me sad that I don't have it anymore. The first car I bought myself was a new 2008 Chevy Malibu.
Ugh. I think I'm going to win oldest car - when I first started driving I had a '79 /oldsmobile Cutlas Supreme. It was a beast. (graduated in 98 for reference)
First car I ever bought was a 2005 Saturn Vue, Piece of shit.
In memory of Corbin Scott 10/28/11-12/3/11.
Heaven got another angel the night you left this world behind
Heaven got a little better the day it took you away from me
Missing you tonight, see you again sometime
For now I'll close my eyes and dream of heaven tonight
I'll love you forever
I'll like you for always
Now and Forever
My baby you'll be
My first car was a 2000 Honda civic Ex. Loved that car. My dad gave it to me in 2007 when I graduated from HS. Done a lot of stupid stuff with that car. Said goodbye in 2011 when it died on the highway on the hottest day In July
A 1998 Nissan Maxima. Gold with black leather interior. It was a hand-me-down from my dad. This thing was BALLER for the times, though. BOSE sound system. Heated seats. I was livin' the high life senior year in HS lol.
My first car was a white Nissan maxima (don't remember the year). I bought it off my then bf now husband, junior year of high school (2004-05). Never got to drive it though because he crashed it...he killed the second one I bought before I got to drive it too (overheated the engine). His parents ended up buying me a car to try to make up for it (also a Nissan maxima).
A 1990 Dodge Shadow with a 1991 front end because my sister had it first and wrapped it around a light pole. It was referred to as old whitey and like to accelerate on it's own and one of the doors didn't open because the lock button broke off in it.

My dad promised me a Lexus GS300. All my friends knew it. We used to call my dad and say things like, "tell us what color it's going to be so we can buy seat covers to match."
Then my dad showed up at my house one day with a one year old Chevy Cavalier. I wasn't a jerk to him but I was not super pumped either.
There's a lot more to it but that's the gist. I drove it for three years, got into a nasty accident, totaled it and got a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. To this day, that's my favorite car I have ever had.
If I wasn't mobile I'd be giffing every Sweet 16 car gif. Lol
Want to think I'm a jerk?

My first car was a 2000 Chevy Blazer (bought in 2003-2004 when I was a junior). My brother and I had to share it- ugh.
First car I bought was a 2006 Jeep Commander that DH still drives today. When he agrees to have another baby, I'll let him buy a new car. (kinda jk, but not really)
I got my first car when I graduated highschool in 2005. It was a ghetto gold 2 door Chevy cavalier that leaked oil, had a hole in the gas tank, my headlights would always cut out (huge wiring problem that would cost more then the car to fix) and blown out speakers.
I bought my second car in 2007 it was a 2005 black grand am with a sun roof and a CD player I loved that car and I still miss it. I got hit head on one day and the car was a total write off.
A 1989 Plymouth Acclaim that was blue and burned oil. My dad made me sell it because it was burning oil and I bought a 1991 Ford Taurus that was red which I thought it was awesome compared to the Plymouth. I ended up selling the Ford to my sister when I moved to NJ and learned about inspections and how much they sucked. She drove that thing to close to 200k miles!
Basically all I am learning from this thread is that, as @JoeLies says, I am an old.
I think we're about the same age, and yes, we are old.
My first car was a bright red 1990 Ford Tempo. I was a bad ass, I know.
My sister and I shared a red Ford Tempo! It was either a 92 or a 94, I can't remember.
The first car I had that was just mine was a 98 Ford Escort (though my dad bought it for me, don't judge!). It was standard and I seriously LOVED that little car. It had over 200,000 miles by the time I got rid of it before moving to TX. My sister ended up taking it and said that it broke down, but I'm not sure if I believe her. She has a history of taking vehicles as gifts and selling them.
I had a red 91 BMW 325i. I am not rich or spoiled, this was in 99 and I bought it with my babysitting money. My dad is in the car business and got a deal. Silly me really wanted a purple Toyota Corolla. When I am out of the minivan years, I totally want another. It had big old rubber bumpers so I could totally parallel park in spots no one else fit in.
First car was a baby blue '95 Geo Prizm. Had over 100K miles on it and rust spots on the hood. No CD player. 55MPH max speed. Bought it my sophomore year of college :-)
Mine was a '95 extended cab Chevy S-10 that I bought with my own money, and that thing was a pos. the outer part of the ignition switch fell off, and one day when I was leaving my BF's house (now DH) the power steering pump FELL OFF while we were saying bye. So he had to go to an auto store to buy a smaller belt so I could make it home. From that day it had no power steering. And it was a stick. And it leaked so bad when it rained that little weeds started growing on my floorboards. When I got my '06 Hyundai Elantra my freshman year of college, the dealership wouldn't even take it for a trade. No lie.
Dude. My car leaked too! And housed scary spiders and lizards.
I had a 1994 Cadillac Seville, clearly handed down from my dad (this was in 2000). I thought I was awesome and I would never have to drive anything but a Cadillac.
And then I entered into the real world and now drive a Honda.
'97 Camaro yo! Got it in 2000. I was bitter because the body style changed in 1998 so mine looked old next to the newer ones. So ridic.
I forgot to add a funny story on mine. I let my 14 year old sister drive it around the block to dry off after washing. She was scared to pull in the driveway but I goaded her into it. She proceeded to mistake the gas for the brakes and OBLITERATED the brick divider between the double garage doors. Holy shit. Bricks were just raining down on the hood of the car.
The best part was my mom made me lie to my dad and say I was driving. He was like, how the fuck did you temporarily forget how to drive? and I had to beg him not to take my keys away.
Re: GTKY: What Was Your First Car?
Edited because the year was wrong and I was thinking about something else and my math is horrible. LOL.
