Questions for the regs that get annoyed by newbies

Disclaimer: I was a reg on my Nov 11 board when I was expecting my first daughter and just lurk here time to time because the posts are repetitive and just mainly to sneak a peek at my ticker.

My question for you regs is: why do you get so worked up over newbs who post repetitive questions or don't lurk enough to learn the board culture? I would just skip those posts instead of feeling the need to post and call them out for not knowing what's up. I would rather spend that energy somewhere else if I were you. Let the questions go unanswered and they will figure it and if not, still just skip their posts. No one is making you answer their questions...  It just seems like this scenario happens all the time and everyone gets worked up about it when they quick just simply not respond or even open the posts..

  • Yet you guys keep feeding into it. Until you guys stop responding their posts won't stop either. Unless if you get some personal satisfaction from it then maybe you guys should just let it go.

  • Probably for the same reasons you spent the energy to make this post.
The difference is I will make all my remarks in this one thread and be done with it, I won't be back for more day after day, week after week.

Why do you care how we respond? It's cool that you just want to skip them yourself. That's fine. But for those of us who have spent time getting to know each other, it's gets old when people pop in and basically say 'LOOK AT MY CUTE FETUS', 'GOOGLE THIS FOR ME, YOU KNOW MORE THAN I DO/HAVE MORE TIME/DON'T WORK/TAKECAREOFHOME/CHILDREN/HUSBANDS/ETC', and so on. No one is making you read our responses to their posts, either.

I generally don't read your responses but it just seems sad that so many grown women get so worked up about such minor things.. It's just a public internet forum. I totally get that you bonded with some of the women here but who in the hell cares about the random crap? Just let it go. It seems like you guys like getting wound upabout these posts.

  • "Here we go again" ran through my mind as soon as I read the title, if that tells you anything.
Your wedding photo in your siggy is gorgeous!

Speak for yourself. I don't see anyone else getting worked up.

  • This has been answered. Several times. In fact, every time someone gets called out, this gets posted. It's the same answer every time as well. Posts like this won't go over well. They are a waste of time. So I'm glad that you wanted your 15 minutes of fame but it won't work.
Oh-and do you want to know why I personally hate the newbie stupid, repetitive questions? Because I have to go through ALL the posts to make sure everything is within TOS. So yeah, I actually have to open them. And read them. And they are a complete waste of time.

I couldn't care less about this board to want 15 min of fame as you mentioned. I just think it's ridiculous that people get so freaking wound up about a internet forum. I get your stance that you are the mod and all that, but why does everyone else care so much? It just seems unnecessary. But from the backlash that this post is already getting, I think you guys enjoy retaliation and maybe that's just part of culture of this board ( and many others I guess) but I will never understand why anyone cares so much about something so insignificant. I rather spend that kind of energy on stuff that really matters in life. The only reason why I posted this thread is not because I am "frustrated" or anything like that, I am just curious. So go ahead about your business and keep tearing apart people that post questions! Have fun ladies.

  • Go back and read the hospital tour thread and you will see all the people getting worked up.

And no, I dodn't post and run.

I've read the thread. I posted in it. If you know that posters history, which was referenced in the post, then you understand what the issues were.

    Again, the irony...

So you do agree that you are spending energy on something insignifcant then?

The difference between me and the people getting worked up is that like I said I will discuss it this post and be done with it and as opposed to lashing out at every thread that a newbie posts that I don't like . That is a waste. But like I said it seems like you guys really enjoy it, so have fun.

@MrsHoz, If you don't generally read the responses, then just how do you lurk? What do you lurk? Andplusalso, how would you know that are responses are 'wound up' over these posts you're not reading?

    Oh, you and your logic.

Who is getting worked up?   I mean, other than you...

I usually do just ignore repetitive posts unless they post the same thing that is literally 2-3 threads down from their post or just post something really douchey...like "ZOMG!  I just can't gain weight.  My doctor said baby is fine and measuring on track, but despite eating cupcakes and ding dongs all day long, I can't gain a pound to my already thin, svelt figure."  Then I may comment, but I don't get "worked up" over it.

I find it ironic, though, that you seem to be just as guilty of what you are accusing us of - i.e. getting worked up (since your definition of "worked up" apparently = commenting on a thread) at your perception of us getting "worked up."
You know why I hate these posts? Because, damnit, now I want a ding dong!
