My other babies always measured right on track. This baby has been measuring two to three weeks ahead for the last two months. I have no idea what gives. My weight gain has been average. Anybody else? What can this mean? Thanks!
I'm measuring two weeks ahead, and I did with ds as well. Lots of factors can play into it, from having a short torso to having GD.
What does your doctor say?
I have been for the past few months- my doctor keeps telling me it's because I'm a little bit of a larger lady! Sheesh, thanks lady!! Way to boost my confidence! I was a size 14/16 before getting pregnant I'm not skinny but I wouldn't consider myself huge by any means- haven't gained a huge amount of weight either and no GD! I asked if it meant baby girl could come early and she said no it's because you are bigger! Lol Gotta love a doctor with NO bedside manners!
I am and have been since I was about 26 weeks. They did an ultrasound (thought it was due to extra fluid bc I had it with my precious two) but they said baby was already measuring 5lbs 3oz on ultrasound and that he was a very big baby. That was at 32 weeks. I know ultrasounds can be way off so I'm not too concerned about it.
Yes I have consistently measuring 2 weeks ahead. I also only have an average weight gain and no gd. Doctor says it could be genitics hubby was almost 10 lbs and he was 3 weeks early. Having a us in a week.
DS always measured about 2 wks ahead and this LO is measuring 2 wks ahead also. I had DS at 35 wks and 4 days and this time I will be 35 wks tomorrow and have early labor now. Expecting the same result.
FWIW I would be prepared for a LO sooner than later. Hope you find out more at your US.
I have consistently been measuring 4-5 weeks ahead I'm not a larger lady and do not have GD (not even boarderline). I don't really think it means anything tbh, either we're having large babies or we aren't
I've been measuring 2 weeks ahead since 28w. They don't worry until you measure 3+ weeks ahead, it's well within normal variations from woman to woman and baby to baby.
I've been measuring big since 26 weeks as well. I have my fluid checked and NST twice a week, they just think he is a big baby, as I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead. I have an official growth scan next week so we will see how big he really is!
I'm measuring 2.5 wks ahead right now, but I've also been gaining weight really fast this last month. I'm hoping that slows down soon and that it was a growth spurt or something. My midwife doesn't really seem concerned.
This never happened with K as I measured right on time the whole way with him (he was still over 10 lbs when born).

I'm measuring 2 weeks (both on ultrasound and abdominal measurement) ahead and have been told probably at every single appt "oh wow you have a big baby"... but no one seems concerned about it. I never thought I was THAT BIG but over the past week almost everyone who sees me like is "oh wow, are you are the end? your huge". Either way, im not concerned and neither are the docs, so im just taking it like it is -- we are having a big baby.
I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead and have been since 22 weeks. I am pretty short waisted and have gained an average amount of weight. I had an u/s to check on baby's growth and fluid levels. It was just a regular u/s so they didn't tell me an estimate on baby's weight but that she looked at most one week ahead and that I had borderline high amniotic fluid levels. I have a level II u/s this Friday to check fluid again and hopefully get more accurate measurements on the baby. My midwive doesn't seem too concerned and said hopefully the extra fluid will help me go into labor on my own as I'm hoping for a VBAC.
At 33 weeks I had a growth scan. He was measuring 36weeks and est weight was 5lb 8oz... I have my next Dr. appointment on Thursday I'm anxious to hear what they are thinking. I was hoping to have him a week late so school would be over before my maternity leave was done. I'm not sure I want to give him that long to grow now....!
At my 26 week visit, the midwife thought I was measuring 5 weeks ahead, which seemed really odd. We kept talking and she decided to remeasure and decided that I was only measuring 2 weeks ahead. At my last appointment (31 weeks), I was still measuring 2 weeks ahead. This midwife (I rotate through as many as possible to get comfortable with whoever might be on call) explained that +/- 3 weeks is completely normal. So I'm not worried, and hopefully you can be not worried and comfortable, too!
New OB said I'm measuring way ahead yesterday. Going to have another US next week to make her happy. I told her I make big babies. I really don't care how big she is, even if they tell me she's 11lbs I'm still trying for the HBAC. I believe she'll be a 9 pounder.
When everyone talks about measuring ahead, are you basing it on ultrasound or fundal height? Because there is a difference between the two. My baby has consistently measured 2 weeks ahead by US and in the 97th-98th percentile. However, I'm 34 weeks pregnant and fundal height is measuring at 42 weeks since I have so much extra fluid due to diabetes. So when you say you are measuring 4-5 weeks ahead is that based on ultrasound or fundal height?
@houzesm1986 while I can't speak for everyone, mine is measuring big by fundal height. She was measuring on track perfectly prior to yesterday. This week we had a 4cm jump. I believe she's just had a growth spurt and will go back to being normal. DD always measured 2-3 weeks ahead (never had an US to measure so I can't say beyond that) DD was 98% for everything at birth. We shall see next week at US, but I do not trust US to give me a correct guess.

Fundal height. Doctors don't (as far as I know) even request ultrasounds unless you are measuring 3+ weeks ahead or behind.
My fundal height has been 3-4 weeks ahead. I have mild polyhydramnios and baby is about 47th%ile... so average baby + lots of fluid = big baby bump.

found out yesterday that i'm measuring 38 weeks!! (only 34 weeks). have to go for another US on march 10th now to check LO's size. I don't feel that big so we'll see!!
A week ago I measured 9w ahead, today i measured 12w ahead. My OB said it could be the positioning of the babe at the time of measurement. Of your OB isn't worried then don't be!
Edit: I am talking about fundal height by the way. They are on track with my growth scans.

My fundal height is only 2 weeks ahead but my little man has been 4-5 weeks ahead on ultrasounds consistently since 28 weeks I've had 3 growths scans and its the same each time fluid levels are normal and no GD, I am not too worried and nor is doctor
Re: Anyone else measuring weeks ahead?
Then we had you.
Now we are complete.
