In the middle of giving my students the state reading test, my principal comes in and says, "go call your husband right now". This would never happen unless it was an absolute emergency.
I go to call and he said that Emmett can't breathe and is in the ER.
When he was admitted to the ER, his oxygen levels were at 82%. He was given a buch of steroids and is currently on oxygen. We're here at least overnight, and until he can breathe on his own.
I'm so upset right now. My poor baby has been through one bad sickness after another for months. T & Ps that he is able to get off the oxygen soon. If not, we'll be transferred to Children's Hospital.
*things here are still pretty rough. The dr. sent away his lab work to check for RSV and croup. We should have the test back by morning I think. Emmett is still requiring a lot of oxygen, which has them a little concerned. However, he is starting to sound better, so that's good.
The hardest part is being tied to this hospital crib. When he's awake, he's bored out of his mind and has been fussing a crying all day. He keeps pulling off his puls ox sensor which is frustrating.
The doctor originally said he'd be here over night, but now it appears that we will be here a few days at least. I did manage to snap a smile in between the hysterical crying he's been doing all day.

Thank you all for your kind words. Even though we don't know each other IRL, you are such a strong support system.
2/27: we're still here at the hospital, and the doctors said that we will take it day by day. Last night he got really bad, but today he is doing a lot better. They are trying to slowly wean him off the oxygen and see how he does. They're concerned by how "crackly" and wheezy his lungs still are. I'll keep you all updated but it's at least one more night and day here. Keep sending those prayers!
