Speaking of phone apps

Have we talked about which phone apps we are using (besides TB obvi).  I scrolled but didn't see any about it.

I downloaded the Deft Amazing Baby Days app after hearing the Jonas couple used it.  I've only used it for tracking gifts at this point and really love it so far.  You can take a picture of the cute gift you've recieved, say who it is from, and set a reminder to send a 'Thank you'.  You can either check a box that says you sent a hand written TY note or there is an option to set the reminder to when the baby will use the gift (at 3 months old Outfit) and take a picture of LO wearing the outfit and send it to the gift giver.  I always think its so thoughtful when friends send me pics of their LOs using the toys or gifts I got them.  You can also track bump pictures, US pics, babies first outfit, LO month by month, etc. and then have it put together a scrapbook once you are done with it.   Haven't gotten that far of course.

*disclaimer...i do NOT work for Deft!

I also downloaded the WebMD pregnancy app.   Some good stuff but don't use it regularly.

Any other super helpful apps to use now or when our LOs arrive?

Also, this is my first Post so don't flame me too hard if we've discussed... if we did i couldn't find it.

Re: Speaking of phone apps

  • I downloaded the free version of sprout which is kinda cool since it has a contraction counter. I really haven't played around with other apps this time around so I don't know if this is now a standard feature.
  • Loading the player...
  • I love the Pregnancy Companion app. It gives weekly updates, lets you track hydration, appointments, questions for your doctor, kicks, and contractions. The kick counter and contraction timer used to be in the paid version only but when I updated my free version recently, it all showed up. It also has an index of medications and common topics so it's a quick go-to for info sometimes. The Android version sucks (I haven't been able to get it working on my phone) but if you have an Apple gadget, it's great for that.

  • No good recs, just wanted to ask if anyone knew of a good app to keep track of breastfeeding sides and times. I didn't have a smartphone with DD and just used a bracelet to keep track of feedings.

Congrats to my GP Sister from another mister Bruinsbabe!!

  • I loved Baby ESP when DS1 was tiny.  I could track/time feeding and pumping, take notes on diaper changes/contents, track his growth and percentiles, and track sleeping time to get a good idea of when he'd get into a slight schedule.  It had large buttons and was very intuitive, which was handy when I was trying to use it at 3am on no sleep.  You can also set it up to have the same information on multiple devices, so if you DH, and daycare all have android devices, you'll sync the baby's data to have consistency.

Unfortunately it's only for Android and I have an iPhone this time around, so I'm looking for something comparable. But if you have an Android phone, I highly recommend it.

  • I loved contraction master. I had a feeding one too, but I can't remember what it was called... I'll have to see of I still have it in the cloud.
  • i have the WebMD Pregnancy app and also have BabyBump which was the companion app to my tracker that I used to help me conceive.

  • I have the Baby Bump app just to keep track of how far along I am.

Baby wise, I used Baby Log with DD on my iPhone. It can keep track of everything: BF times & side, sleep times, diapers, growth measurements & milestones. I started with the free one to try it out, but I think it has a time limit on it, & then you lose your data when you switch. I tried a couple but chose that one because it has a visual graph to show feedings, sleep & poop over a week I think. Anyways, there may be something better out there, but I like it.
  • It's crazy to think soon I'll have more newborn apps than preggo apps! That was a 'this shits getting real' moment for me! Thanks ladies. Super helpful.

You can try a pocket nanny: https://www.target.com/p/itzbeen-baby-care-timer-blue/-/A-10541943?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=|10541943&CPNG=Baby&kpid=10541943&LID=PA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=10541943&gclid=CLPwjOrQ67wCFYdgfgod_G4A7w
I recently saw one posted in a B/S/T for $8. They are pretty inexpensive used. I used mine lightly when I was deletion ally tired and will again.

I'm glad you're liking it! I didn't even notice that they added a baby names feature, will have to go back and play with it some more.
