"How dare you drink a glass of wine while BFing!"

Says my asshat cousin that I absolutely hate. He is a miserable slob of a man, who thinks he knows everything about EVERYTHING. As I was pouring myself HALF a glass a wine, he says to me:

?? Him: Are you still BFing her?

?? Me: Yes

?? HIm: And you are going to have wine, that's horrible of you.

?? Me: No, it is perfectly safe to have a small amount while BFing, look it up.

?? Him: Do you believe everything you read?

??Me: I trust my pediatrician and my LC.

?? Him: You are being selfish and are hurting your DD, do you REALLY need the wine?

?? Me: When you become a pediatrician or an LC, then I will value your opinion.

?

?I walked away then because I was getting so fumed. It takes A LOT for me to get angry, but for anyone to insinuate that I would EVER do anything to hurt my child makes me LIVID! ?

DH said he doesn't know why I let him get to me..... but when it comes to DD I'm sensitive. ?

Arg, anyone else get any "know -it- all" advice this Christmas??

    I get know-it-all advice everytime I see my FIL.  He thinks everything he says is right.  And yes, it gets SO annoying.

    What a jerk!! I have only had a cocktail once since having my son and I got "Oh you're not BFing anymore" with a look of relief. I was like um no you can have a small amount while BFing.

    Well, he would be appalled by me then! I had TWO glasses of wine! And guess what?? My milkscreen strips said it was FINE to bf him. SO HA!

    No, but DH asked if I wanted any wine and I told him just a teeny bit. MIL said, "Are you allowed to drink while bf?" I told her that a little bit is just fine and she didn't say anything else. She isn't as ignorant as your cousin, apparently. =)
