Second u/s today UPDATE

Hi all, I've been somewhat MIA from the boards due to the stress of the waiting game. (I know, stupid to withdraw when the boards are here for support, but that was my reaction!)

Last wk we had our first u/s and the doc couldn't see a baby, just a sac. Based on my LMP & (I think) the sac size, she said we should've been able to see a baby (bec I would have been over 7 wks by then based on LMP) and to prepare to miscarry. Needless to say, we were in shock/ freaking out. They took blood and my hcg & progesterone levels were good, plus no bleeding of any kind (yet). Now we have another ultrasound this afternoon. We're trying to stay positive and hopeful but I don't know what to think based on the doc's reaction last time and I'm terrified and nervous for this u/s.

I should say that my cycles have been quite irregular since going off b/c in oct so I have no real good idea of when my O date was. But I did get my BFP almost a month ago and my GP put me in the 4 week range based on a blood test that same week.

Going back and forth over all this in my head is making me crazy! I totally relate to everyone who's been stuck waiting and not knowing. It sucks!

I guess I don't really have a question. Just wanted to share...and I felt weird not posting much for the past week.

Any words of encouragement, T&P, etc. always appreciated of course.

Update: not good. Still no baby. Great looking placenta though.

I guess my body still thinks it's pregnant even though I'm not anymore. So...we will try again in a couple months. We are thinking it happened this way for a reason.

Hope for good news! It seems your Dr was really quick to jump to that conclusion based only on your LMP especially since you are irregular.

I know, you're so right! It took me awhile to remember the whole point of being on here (besides all the fun clicky polls and gifs of course!) was the support, giving it AND receiving it! I'm a little slow...

Good luck today. I had the same thing happen. I went in thinking I was almost 7 weeks but they only saw a sac. A week later we saw the little peanut and a heartbeat. My OB even stopped by at the end of the U/S because she thought it would probably bad news. She was excited as we were at the good news. Hoping you get to see your little one today!

Not charting at all, just kind of guessing based on my (not yet regular) LMP. So yeah, I think there's wiggle room. I hope.

When getting pg with my daughter, I actually went to the Dr because I had the never-ending period (3weeks and counting). She did a test and said I was pg. since I worked in a lab, I tested my blood a few days apart and saw the beta level was decreasing and I was losing that baby. I called my doctor and told her I didn't think I was pg anymore and she had me come in to draw two beta levels. Since they took forever to get me results back, I actually got pregnant again within the next month, before she called me to tell me I lost that baby. I told her she better test again, and now I have a beautiful 4 year old. Just telling you there is still hope that something similar maybe happened? It would explain the time difference. FX for good news!
