I don't mind prego, preggers, etc...which surprises me because I usually hate words like that.
I hate the term "with child" for some reason. Also hate being called "mama" by random people. It's weird. I agree with the "sister, sissy, brother, bubba" terms. Should be YOUR sister or YOUR brother, or full names.
I don't like when people make comments about me being "knocked up" it seems so dirty. Maybe the movie gave me the distaste for it.
Hehe I was "shamed" by an older male co worker for using the term knocked up. "Now that you're a respectable married lady you shouldn't talk like that. You should say 'I'm expecting'". Pah! I say it more now. Eta: spelling
I wish people would just say "you look good" without adding something like "for a pregnant lady", "for 5 months pregnant", "for carrying twins"...etc Why can't we just look good!?
I consider the term "nesting" to mean creating a nest for your baby - as in a nursery. I don't consider it cleaning or organizing other areas of your home. I certainly wouldn't be creating a nursery if I wasn't pregnant.
Mucous plug is the worst for me. I think the word can actually make my H run out of the house with his fingers in his ears.
Oh and I know this might be blasphemy on the "TB" but "bump" annoys me. "Look how big your bump is!" Umm what? Am I a road block? I'd rather hear baby is big or baby is growing.
The word 'nubby' or 'num num' for a pacifier. JUST NO.
DD called it a 'binky', and I think that's bothersome to others...
That'd be me! I dislike binky. Who came up with that? It's a pacifier. If you really need another name, then paci will work, but what's wrong with just saying pacifier?
I know this will sound weird but I didn't even know it was called anything but a binky until I was a teenager. My entire family just always used the words bink or binky and I never knew any different.
I agree with marathonmom I dislike fetus. I also dislike nucky for pacifier. Kid words that drive me nuts are bubba .... just no....and potty.
@kristinwhit Bubba? What context? I call my kid Bubba or Bub all the time.
I'm going to be honest.....I call the little boys at the hospital Bubba all the time. And I call the little girls Baby Girl or Sweetie. Mostly because I'm afraid I'll mess up their names or call someone by the wrong name. Usually by the end of my shift or if the patient has been there a few days, I strictly use their name so I get bonus points for that, right?

The word Placenta...creeps me out. I don't know why.

Membrane stripping makes me gag. And clench.
Kegel. I can't read the word without doing them. Which I suppose isn't bad but I don't like the word.
