Didn't have them and was only peed on one time. I seriously expected fountains of pee all over the nursery based on what I'd heard or read online. It didn't happen. #2 is probably going to erupt from all orifices constantly since I am so smug about DS keeping his fluids to himself.
You've already gotten your answer from ladies with experience, but I just wanted to throw in that a friend's son peed strongly enough to shoot the teepee off. It was really funny hearing about it at the time but probably not in the immediate aftermath.
I know this was already answered but it's a total waste. My son is on the "smaller" side of the wiener wagon and it still fell off all the time. I only got a couple real pee showers though so it wasn't a big deal.
Now the one time that he projectile pooped all over the wall while I was changing him was something I still can't get out of my mind and it was a year ago.
My first son wasn't too bad, but my 2nd peed on me ALL THE TIME. I would use the burp cloth as a shield, but sometimes I wasn't fast enough. Sometimes I "risked it" and didn't use it, and those times of course he peed.
DS has peed on me a few times in the very beginning, but DH got the projectile poop on his first ever diaper change. Poor man was so freaked out, and I tried very hard to not laugh.
I agree with the burp cloth as a cover during changes. It's also good during bath time to keep pee from spraying all over. DS would pee in the bath and it would shoot out of the water. I also put it under him incase he pooped, which happened frequently at first. Then I just changed the burp cloth to a clean one.
Is it bad to admit that I may have put my hand there to catch it versus in the face when it has happened? LOL. I often just put a wipe there if really worried (I use cloth).
Oh my gosh, I forgot about when DS2 peed on himself....the stream went all over, and then onto his face. Of course he started screaming. Poor guy...but it was kind of funny too. This happened once when we were still in the hospital. The nurse walked in right when it was happening. She didn't seem phased.
DS literally only peed on me once, but he did pee on himself a few times (and one time on the nurse at a check-up.) When my baby sister was, well, a baby, I swear she peed on me at least once a week... girls can be just as bad as boys, if not worse!

Not bad at all! I've done this before a few times too. It's better than just letting it go all over you, baby and who knows what else.
We had the pee pee tee pee for my DS. Total waste of money, but everyone found hillarious when I opened at my baby shower. I think it said on it, Tinkle Tinkle Little Star

Yep. Boy or girl. You will get peed on. Poo too.
