Tired and Dreading to work

I used be a motivated hard worker. Lately, I dread to come to work. I feel sleepy while coming to work and when I reach work, I count hours to get off. What's wrong with me? Are you guys going through same?

Re: Tired and Dreading to work

  • This was me during my first pregnancy. I would call out all the time. I was going through a difficult time with my supervisor and with my coworkers, so that compounded my lack of motivation, along with the normal zap of energy that happens in pregnancy. I just listened to myself and did what I felt I should do. I called out when needed and when I went in did what I could do. I even requested to my Dr to go on maternity leave early and it was granted because it was stressing me out so much. After having my baby, I returned to work and was glad that I took the time I needed off and away from work. A lot of the problems I was having resolved over the time I was off. I am still at the same employer 5 years later and this pregnancy feels different. I have moments of being tired and lack motivation, but don't want to call out and stay home all the time. Be patient with yourself and keep in mind everything is temporary and ever changing. If you need to stay home for a few days then do so. I know there are financial pressures, but what really is most important is for you to feel healthy.
