The phrase I hate even more than the word preggo is 'milk drunk'. I have no idea why, but it literally makes me cringe.

Also, when people let younger siblings call an older sibling 'sissy' or 'brother'. Teach them their friggin' names!

My friend does this with her two sons, and the whole time I'm there it is: "Where's brudder? GO SEE BRUDDER OK? WHERE IS BRUDDER AT?!"

I am not a fan of sissy or sister either. I feel like I hear that more than brother, which is weird too.

  • Prego and preggers. I cringe.

The Co worker I hate told my 27 weeks pregnant Co worker she had that "pregnant face".

  • Preggo. I constantly have to remind people that I am not a mediocre pasta sauce.

And this isn't a word or phrase per say, but every single time I say goodbye to someone now, leaving an event, hanging up the phone, etc. they tell me to 'take care of myself'. Well no shit! I think it bugs me because nobody ever said anything like they cared before, so it feels really insincere somehow? I dunno.
  • Prego and preggers.

  • Paci. We called it a pacifier and DD called it her "sire." Paci drives me bananas.

I get so sick of people asking me in a daily basis "how are you feeling?" Drives me crazy!!!!!!!! I have this one co-worker who is a very nice lady but she asks me that every day! I havent been sick at all so it's not like I've ever given her a reason to keep asking.
I just went off about this last night, I am sure my lovely husband enjoyed the rant. If ONE MORE person asks me how I am feeling I might lose it. Funny enough he said it is driving him crazy too because people keep asking him how I am feeling! Trying not to be so grumpy and I know people are just being nice or have nothing else to say so I just smile an answer... for now..

  • Definitely preggers.  And I hate when people ask me how I'm feeling.  It gets so old.  And it drives me nuts when I say that some food sounds good and it's automatically chalked up to being a "pregnancy craving".  I had cravings before I was pregnant, so I don't know why it's a big deal now.

And sis, or sissy doesn't really bother me, I've just heard it used affectionately, on occasion.  But my cousin's kids call each other brother all.the.time.  Brother won't let me play this, where is brother, brother said this, brother said that.  They NEVER use their names.

I second @alygoo615, moist was the first thing to come to mind...but I guess that's not a pregnancy word.

Discharge, preggo (I had a friend post a pic of all of these jars of Prego sauce that she bought for sale...pregnant sauce?), and mucus. Gag.

Also, ladies at work have been calling me "little momma," which I can tolerate. Today, someone called me "little mommy" and that was crossing the line for some reason.

  • The word 'nubby' or 'num num' for a pacifier. JUST NO.

DD called it a 'binky', and I think that's bothersome to others...

  • Any version of pregnant that is not, in fact, the word pregnant.

We are big users of sister and brother here. I tell DD all the time, go get big brother it's time for his dinner (big brother is her dog Rocky Top by the way). Is this a regional thing? I am in the South and it's very common here.

I second (third, fourth, whatever we're on) any word for pregnant besides pregnant. It drives me NUTS! I immediately think of prego spaghetti sauce if someone says (or types, especially types) preggo.

Umm, anyone who uses baby-talk words as substitutes for the actual word when talking to adults (although I don't even substitute words for baby versions with my own son--they are learning language, use the language they will be expected to use to be understood--that's how they learn! pet peeve rant, sorry)

I hate being called mommy, momma, etc by anyone but my son. I have a name.

Morning sickness--- I think this is just because I had hyperemesis so bad and even with DS i never got sick in the morning, always evening. But when I tell people I had hyperemesis I get "oh, bad morning sickness." No, hyperemesis... I just really want another word for morning sickness that encompasses all types of pregnancy related nausea and vomiting. Is that too much to ask?

OHHHH, has anyone ever heard the "aww HIM/HER so cute"  in reference to babies/ultrasounds etc. WTF. Ok I'm done now

  • I cannot stand preggers or preggo.
I also hate the word belly… it makes me gag.

ME TOO. I swear by not using baby talk. People would always tell me DD talked/spoke really well when she was a toddler.

  • After reading these I thought I was the only person going insane everyday when someone at work asks me "how are you feeling?" I feel like just screaming! I also have not been sick at all (knock on wood) so there is no reason to ask me.

People also call me "mama" which I loath, and then proceed to comment on how big I am getting. Just makes me want to say..well eventually when I am nine months I will reach your size!

I usually am not so negative but, I am going insane some days!

Preggo, preggers, pregglie, pregglo. Kill me.

Also anyone calling me "Mama". It makes me grind my teeth. Unless you are the reason I have this lovely scar on my abdomen and pee when I sneeze, I am not your mama. Extra cringing for adding "little" in front of it.

Yes!! My brother in law calls me little mama all the time and it really annoys me! I don't know how to tell him to stop without sounding like a crazy!
  • Belly, could be because people won't stop touching it!

  • I never thought of bloody show but now EHHHHHHH!!!! It sounds like it should be in a horror movie! I had the word amniocentesis- just the thought freaks me out. I also can't stand when people ask  me how my "alien" is doing! It has been several people! It's not a fucking alien!!! It's my child!

OMG! I totally agree!!!! I have people at the office who barely said hey to me before saying, "Hey momma, how are you feeling today?" Every time I see them!!! I guess it's supposed to be a nice jesture, but it makes me want to scream! I haven't been sick the whole time either so I know what you mean about never giving them a reason.

  • There are so many. Prego, preggly, preggers. I also hate the term expecting. Paci and binky drive me nuts along with baba (bottle). When my cousin fed her babies she used to call the food "yum yums." Horrible. Sissy instead of sister or a name makes me cringe. I can't stand 'sposie for disposable diaper (this is common on the cloth diaper board).

That'd be me! I dislike binky. Who came up with that? It's a pacifier. If you really need another name, then paci will work, but what's wrong with just saying pacifier?
  • I hate the terms preggo, preggers, fetus, binky, mucous plug, and bloody show too.

  • Colic.  People don't understand who to properly use the word in a sentence and it drives me batty.

Before I had a child I hated when parents would say 'let's go bye-bye' to their child.  Now, I say it too.  But, other than that we don't 'baby talk' her and she knows what 'leave' means so we obviously use that word too.  My MIL tried doing baby talk with DD but I corrected her.  She would say the 'aww hims is so cute'.  WTF?  Your granddaughter has better speech than you any day and you want to talk to her that way??

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is driven crazy by the constant 'how are you feeling' question.  I always look at them confused and say 'fine why?'  ;)
