I just read the flat nipples post and I did the pinch test a million times last night because I couldn't tell if my nipples were flat. And now my boobs hurt from all of that squeezing.
My shower invites went out yesterday and I'm already stalking my registry. I'm such a loser.
Ahhhh... nothing like a fresh new thread in the morning! I have so many!
First, I cried this morning on the subway when a woman offered me her seat. It doesn't happen nearly enough in this city, and when our humanity peeks through our otherwise busy, preoccupied, self-involved worlds, it makes me weepy. That, or I'm pregnant.
Second, Ru Paul's Drag Race is BACK!!! Just watched the first episode at my desk. I love drag culture more than I know how to say.
Third, theft at Bitcoin and possible bankruptcy and collapse?!
I have a few things cool baby items/cheap maternity clothes/free coupons I wanted to share with everyone. Sorry this is so long but I always seem to miss this post.
Baby Items:
Halter Kangaroo Tube- shirt that allows skin to skin
This a double post because Im guessing I posted todays on an older thread, so I guess I get to be a SS x 2 today.
Anyways, I am so excited that I finally get to share that DH finally got to feel LO move!!!! It was pretty awesome, and I can't wait for him to feel her move again!!!!
I am going to Disney World on Friday morning! We are FL residents, so we go a lot, but I am super excited because we are staying at one of the nicer resorts and not planning on leaving the hotel on Friday (we'll get in before 10am). I plan to be in or near the pool all day. DD loves the pool, and it usually makes her sleepy enough for a nap, which means I get one too. Yay!
I registered for a 4-pack of the A&A swaddles, a Miracle Blanket, a Halo swaddle and a 2-pack of Swaddle-mes. Is that too much? I was thinking that the A&A swaddles can really be used more as blankets, but is that too many swaddles? Should I take some off my registry?
I'm over 24 weeks \m/ I've just been waiting to get to this point. Had a appointment with my consultant today and the baby is measuring 670grams, so far so good. After 2 previous early losses I honestly feel a big relief to get to this point because at one point I never thought it would happen for me. Today I am a 100% attention whore =D>
My boobs didn't leak at all my first pregnancy. When my milk came in, my right produced almost twice as much as my left and when I weaned, I had to wear a chicken cutlet for a while so that they looked even. They are even now and don't leak on their own but will if I'm in the shower or poking at them.
I GAVE NOTICE YESTERDAY AT WORK!!!! As of May 23 I am officially a SAHM. Woo!!!
My nipples are not flat but they are also not leaking when I pinch them I am not googling when I should be concerned.
This is a bit of an embarrassing confession, but I had my left nipple pierced when I was 18 (*eyeroll* I thought I was so cool). I spent a lot of time googling the other day, trying to figure out if I was never going to be able to breastfeed because of it.
Pretty proud of myself for attempting to tame the jungle that I have been growing for a while. It's not perfect and I'm not even sure what it looks like. I'm to chicken to take a razor to it but its not a 70's porn muff anymore!!! Yay go me!!!

I've noticed that too! A couple times I've had to stand for the entire hour train ride from NYC to Long Island. I just told myself I had to suck it up! But this morning on two differnet subway trains, two men gave up their seats for me. That was nice.

@lest12 Haha!!! Same here, but just wanted to let you know that I had no problems nursing until DS started to get a mouthful of teeth. He would have one tooth that would hit my scar tissue just right and it would hurt so bad so I just had to turn him around and nurse in the opposite direction. By then you will be a pro. I hope this helps with your concern and good luck nursing.
I have an old pack n play of my sisters from 5 or 6 years ago. The insert to make the mattress higher for a newborn is missing. Do I actually need a pack n play for that insert or can I just use that one when the baby's older.
We are registering for a rock n play and a swing.
@wareagle1220 You can use that pack and play with a newborn. The higher mattress is really just for ease of picking them up since it happens so frequently when they are that small. Between that, the RnP and the swing, I think you are set!

It's one thing when women don't get up to give a seat, but when men don't it really upsets me. I KNOW someone in their life raised them better than that!
lyracelesti - is your scar spreading at all? As my belly button gets closer and closer to popping out I've been watching my piercing go from inside my belly button to outside! I keep waiting for the holes to get super big. I took mine out almost 15 years ago (I got it at 14, then was waaaay too cool for it by 17 ), so not sure what it will end up doing...
I have another one! I suck at being a SAHM. Don't get me wrong I love love love hanging out with my LO all day. But I have nothing to look forward to anymore. My weekends are no different then my weekdays. I miss working. I miss my residents at the nursing home. I miss adult interaction. How do you other SAHM get out of this funk?

I took my piercing out as soon as I started getting some blump because it made a weird bump under my shirts. At this point, the top hole is growing into a long slit. I really hope it doesn't stay that shape after the babies are here--no idea how much excess skin I'm going to retain in that area.
@Mztwilson I've been trying to figure out the same thing. Every other weekend I spend time at my parents, and that's it. Those every other weekends are what keep me going for now, but once the baby comes I can't just spend 3 nights at my parents house. I gave up a lot to be a SAHM and now I feel like a brat for missing what I gave up. So, no real advice, but I can understand how you feel.
I think I picked out the baby shower invites and I'm sending those out Friday. My work shower is 3/18 and family is 3/29. All my birth classes are in April. Then it's May. Then it's June and OMFG where is the time going?!

@joules235, oh good. That's kind of what I figured.
On a side note, it's really annoying that certain packs of CDs and swaddlers and things are called "boy or girl". I have several items on my registry that say they're boy items. I just like some of the colors better!
I agree! I bought the cutest A&A blanket for DD that has little airplanes on it and some of the jet streams make little hearts. It is a "boy" patter but IDGAF. I wish there was a bigger selection of gender neutral baby items, or even just girl stuff that isn't so girly and boy stuff that isn't covered in footballs. Its not that I mind buying things that are gender specific but I hate how in your face it is. Also the onsies that say "Daddy's Princess" or "Mommy's Handsome Boy" are so annoying and its difficult to find inexpensive onsies without words.
Yesss. The ones that I registered for that are labeled boy have little brown and mint green stars on them. And I think I registered for some of the zoo animal ones that were labeled boy. What's so boy-ish about animals?!
I'm already dreading the obnoxious onesies I know I'll get at showers. No words please. No words. Unless it's a HP onesie that says accio milk. hehe.
I have a whole bunch of HP inspired onesies on my pinterest board I am also a big fan of "gryffindorable"
My boobs have been leaking for a few weeks now, it's actually really annoying. My right has been leaking way more than my left, and then the other day I sat up from laying on the couch and my shirt was soaked on the left side....H laughed at me.
On another note, my tailbone was absolutely killing me yesterday and no matter how I sat in my chair, it wasn't helping. But yay for working for an office furniture company and we have like 10 other chairs laying around the office, so I sat in all of them and found one that's actually comfortable.
I do have a pnp but the nursery is right next to the bedroom and the changing table is pretty big (its also a dresser). I think I will end up going between the two rooms.
Now I am wondering how often a baby needs a new diaper during the night.
I changed mine during each nighttime feeding. I had them in the pnp next to my bed and would just change them in it, since it's the high bassinet top. I did it to not disrupt them too much and so that I could easily transition them right into bed with me for the feeding (my oldest breastfed, my other was bottle).

These are the things that I wonder about, too. LOL. I mean, I just have no idea. Also, if one were to stay in the room to change the diaper, one would almost need a little spotlight system so as not to wake one's SO. If both adults wake up every time (which might happen anyway)there would be no sense in taking turns. I just have no idea logistically how to make this all work. LOL. It'll probably be total chaos for a while!
Taking turns?? What is this magical concept???
No seriously. If I am bfing why would h get up? If he just needs a diaper change?
I dont know about all your Hs but the effort it would take to wake up, tell him to change the diaper, tell him again to wake up....it would be easier just doing it myself.
@BrightEyes112 - Right??? How do they sleep through EVERYTHING???? I get so jealous some nights that I just want to punch him in his deep sleep. LOL!
Also (because once I start thinking, I realize how little I know)
If you plan to have baby sleep in your room at night, will they nap in their nursery, or where they sleep at night?
(We should have a newbie playdate thread where clueless people like me can ask a billion questions, like they do on ttgp).
Up until they transitioned to their cribs, they did their napping in the downstairs pnp, their swings, bouncy chairs, etc. Once in their cribs, that's where they would nap.

Mostly DD just napped wherever she fell asleep (bouncy seat, blanket on the floor) until we started sleep training at 5 mo.
I'm totally going away from baby and boob talk and geeking out. Netflix sent Riddick yesterday. My evening will consist of watching Vin Diesel kick some ass!
SorryNotSorry, I'm an huge action movie junkie! And I don't remember seeing a Man Crush Monday yesterday so- in honor of the movie of the night at home ">
Over the weekend we went out for drinks with some new friends. While we were sitting in the booth I balanced a full glass of water on my bump. Have always wanted to do that!
Also today I finally dropped our car off to get the interior steam cleaned (it has light colored suede seats with blue jean stains all over them). I picked out some nice grey leatherette covers to put on after. They should be better for wiping down once we have Charlie riding with us.
I had planned to find a Starbucks to sit in and do some work (and bump) while I waited and the guy told me there was actually one on the 40th floor of the building. So I'm happily nestled up here with a peppermint mocha, a 180 degree view of Seattle... and the suns out!

Oh oh... and... I hit double digits today... 99 days to go !!

I will have my first ever nursery and this is baby #3, so I'm super excited.
My 2yo is napping, thankfully! He's way too cranky today!
Gotta get some more packing done and about 3 loads of laundry done before we move so I don't have to start laundry before unpacking.
