HCG is only 22 at 5 weeks pregnant?

I am about 5 weeks pregnant. Last week I took my first pregnancy test which showed a very faint line indicating a positive pregnancy test. The next day I noticed just a bit of red blood on the toilet paper after peeing. I didn't spot any more since then. I called and made an appointment with the ob. They wanted to test my HCG levels. The first test came back 19. 48 hours later they drew more blood, and it was at 22. Tomorrow I am suppose to get more blood drawn. From what I've read, this may indicate the beginning of a miscarriage, or an ectopic pregnancy? Have any of you had low HCG levels that are barely rising? And if so, what happened?

Thank you so much. It means alot. I will be going to get more blood drawn in the morning. I have prepared myself for bad news; however, I am leaving it all in God's hands.

Thank you. I had my blood drawn today, but I won't know the results until tomorrow (Monday) ... I took another pregnancy test today, and it show another very very faint second pink line indicating a positive pregnancy test? I don't know what is going on....

Hi hijoi. I remember talking with you when I was going through my first pregnancy, and had my daughter, Faith. She is also almost 20 months now. How are you?

I called the ob just a few minutes ago, and had to leave a message. Hoping they will call back shortly with the blood test results. Unfortunately, I started spotting again last night, and it is now becoming a bit heavier with some mild cramping

I got the blood test results. 15.7

I'm now waiting for another call to see if they want me in for an ultrasound, or for additional blood tests to see that the HCG levels continue lowering.

I asked the nurse if it was possible that maybe I wasn't even pregnant? (because I have been having some wacky periods these past few months.) She said, "You were definitely pregnant." Part of me was hoping that maybe I just was never pregnant. Hearing her say those words made the tears arrive.

The dr wants me back on Friday for one more blood test. After that, I will have a follow-up appointment to speak with the dr and probably have an ultrasound. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
