With DS I just wore high waisted sun dresses. They were the most comfortable clothes I had. I also wore a lot of skirts. I'm looking forward to warmer weather
Kohls has had really awesome clearance capris and shorts in my area. I think they were trying to clear things out for the upcoming season. I got 2 pairs of capris and a pair of shorts for $4 a piece.
Yes, they make them. Old Navy carries them, but I agree with PP sundresses and flows skirts are the way to go with summer pregnancies. I lived in my broom skirts with DD
I have capris from Kohl's from last pregnancy. The maternity sections around here suck so I often end up ordering online and then just returning to the store anything that I don't like.
I'm also going to be going with the maxi dresses, although Motherhood is just starting to get their shorts stock in. Sadly, even though I'm 5'3" on a good day, they were almost booty shorts already. No one needs to see that.
I got a really cute pair of maternity cargo capris at Old Navy and a pair of maternity shorts online. I got a few skirts but they are kinda short so I'm not sure how they will work. I wish maxi skirts/dresses would work but I got a pear shape body (curvy portuguese bum bum). Blerg!

I didn't wear maternity clothes the summer that I was PG with DD. I bought empire-waist dresses, 1 size up, and they worked for me right up until the end.
Last pregnancy I so much preferred dresses to pants, particularly for work. First I'm cheap and the dress maternity pants can get expensive, also for comfort, I just prefer a loose fitting dress to the belly bands in maternity pants. I see Capri and even maternity daisy dukes, although I prefer a longer legged short. There's leggings to wear under dresses or tunics, for a comfortable cute look. I can't wait for the weather to change because I prefer the warmer weather maternity clothes!
I hate wearing dresses but I did get a bunch of shorts from motherhood maternity. However, the inseam was too long for me with some of them so yeah... Don't order unless you can try on. I know target has some Capri pants and kohls has some too.
Last time I lived in dresses as well. I purchased many cute dresses for 12.99 / 15.99 at Ross. They weren't maternity dresses, but all empire wasted dresses worked well, especially if they were a little longer than usual. Maxi dresses work well too, though they can get hot since they're so long.
I did have a problem with chaffing though. In the really hot summer, my thighs started rubbing against each other making it very uncomfortable. I never had that problem until I gained so much weight with pregnancy. Talcum powder helped, but it was no fun.
In the TX heat, there's only so much I can do in the summer. Last time I had capris, even though they were not flattering, they were more flattering than shorts on my ugly legs and cooler than pants. Also maxi dresses are great, but then I feel like a swamp down under when I'm sweating my ass off (literally) and there's nothing soaking it up. (EW I know)
I don't have a choice but to go online here, I've had some luck at Kohl's and Old Navy but that's it. I will also be making myself some summery maternity dresses I think. I've also seen a wide selection of maternity shorts on Zulily, but I haven't purchased any yet.
Yep I loved skirts and dresses but I also had gotten a couple pairs of capris from Motherhood. They were ok I preferred the skirts/dresses over everything else.
I don't mean to be mean, but this post cracks me up. OF COURSE they make summer maternity clothes. The clothing stores want to make money. They carry clothes for all seasons! There are capris, shorts, shortie shorts, sundresses, tank tops, whatever floats your boat.
FWIW, l also liked dresses and skirts, but had a couple pairs of shorts as well. DD was born mid-August.
I live literally at the tip of Florida and even Target still has only long sleeves here! I pretty much live in maternity tights and the long rushed teeshirts. I love a dress, but chafing! Last time Gap/ old navy yoga skirt things with the fold over top fit well.
I'll Take a look at Kohls and a few other locals stores for capri maternity pants. LOL I don't think I could pull off the maxi dress look, but some knee length skirts with a maternity T Shirt should do the trick.
I'm also going to be going with the maxi dresses, although Motherhood is just starting to get their shorts stock in. Sadly, even though I'm 5'3" on a good day, they were almost booty shorts already. No one needs to see that.
I went in there too and the manager kept trying to to get me to try them on. I'm 5'8" and all legs...the booty shorts were not going to happen. I kept picturing the manager with an army of
pregnant women she had dressed as whores going all
Old navy has a ton!! And a bunch of tanks and short sleeves!! Just got a bunch of stuff in sale!! You can return to a store if it doesn't fit and free shipping on orders over $50
As far as chafing, monistat makes good chafing cream. I think it's by the yeast infection meds at target. Mister uses it for his nipples with running, I use it for my thighs in summer and under my boobs. Some of my friends also us it as primer, but it peels off my face weird. Hth
I have a skirt from Gap with a fold over waist that I love. I also went to a children's clothing resale shop yesterday and bought two pairs of maternity shorts $5 to $10 each, and barely worn. I never even thought of resale with my first, so if you are looking to save, that's one option.
Psh, eff clothes. It'll already be hot as hell. Now just add on top of that the overload of body heat from pregnancy. I'm going nude. You can't stop me.

I'm also a huge fan of maxi dresses, and you don't need to get maternity ones either - I'm gonna wear the maxi's I already have.
Maxi skirts + tank tops are a nice combo as well.
I loathe capris with a passion, they have never looked nice on me.
