I need to get better at reading labels! Mine are all machine washable but a lot are "hang to dry." I always tell myself to check the label before buying but then I get to the store and am all, "oooh! Those pants are nice!" The label is forgotten until it's laundry time, when I curse myself again.
ALL of my clothes are hung to dry. DH is not allowed to do my laundry anymore because he ruins my clothes in the dryer. I dont check labels either, but thats because they automatically get hung up to dry. Which is why I love my steamer so much. It takes me a matter of seconds to steam my clothes as opposed to ironing.
Ok, maybe I need to start seriously looking into a steamer. But, at the risk of fanning the "I'm a fancy bish" flames, what about pants that require a crease? Do you just fold them along the crease and steam them that way? Does that work to preserve it?
I can't iron for the life of me. I ask DH to iron if I need anything. One of the perks of marrying a man who was raised by a single mother. She taught him everything!
My real confession: if I'm desperate I will use my flat iron and that seems to work great!

I've used my flat iron to iron many times! ESP collars. Works great
My FFFC- my hemmies are back. But instead of hurting this time, they're itchy as FUUUUUUUUUU. I honestly don't know which I prefer.
Anyway, I've been doing a pretty decent job IMO of not scratching. But at around 330 AM after icing, sitting in a warm bath, and putting cream on, I got desperate. I took 3 Tuck's pads (the witch hazel one) and rubbed it to scratch. It felt so amazing that I swear to God I orgasmed. As in, my eyes rolled to the back of my head and I was in complete and total ecstasy.
I haven't felt that way in months. Despite having sex with DH.
Awkward.
I have totally been there done that. It is such sweet relief....for like 2 minutes. Then they itch again. But I TOTALLY get that feeling.
Try calmoseptine cream! It's a moisture barrier and it's the tits. Been using it when I flare from Crohn's. It won't make the 'roids go away, but it leaves a cooling sensation that lasts a while.
FFFC: so I just full on ugly cried because I'm so pissed off at DH. See page 1's ironing board throwing incident. I had to buy the tiles for our bathroom reno today but he forgot to move money around, so it came out of my own o/d, leaving me £40 and I had to buy gas because my fuel light is on. I asked him to send me £20 at lunch, which he said he'd do. He forgot that too. I managed to put a bit of gas in my car but now I have pretty much no money.
Then I get home from work and he's back on the playstation and last night's dishes are still in the sink. He's hardly said 2 words to me since I got in. I asked him what we were doing for dinner (hint - take me out or make me something to make up for being a douche). Well it became clear that I'm making dinner. I'm tired, have a cold, have been working all week and slept for 4 hours last night. Oh and I'm making a human.
So I did the dishes, walked upstairs and ugly cried on the bed. I've been up here 20 mins and I've not even had an "are you ok?".
I'm sorry you're going through this right now. Have you asked your H to stop playing for a bit so you can talk about how you're feeling? Early on in our relationship, I'd get very angry at my H because I would assume he was deliberately avoiding work, and intentionally doing things that would piss me off. Turns out, he just doesn't notice things like dirty dishes, and they don't bother him the way they do me. Also, he doesn't read my moods terribly well, so he'd have no idea I was upset with him until I exploded. (Though if you threw an ironing board at your H, you'd think he'd get it). The thing that's worked out the best for us is to just talk everything out. I had to realize that he was not going to psychically know what I wanted or needed from him; I needed to verbalize. As an introvert, this was very difficult for me, but it works out so much better for both of us. I also had to realize that when my H gets angry, he internalizes. If he's moody or grouchy and I feel like I'm getting the silent treatment, it's not because he's mad at me. He's angry at something else, and trying to work out his frustrations/relax, usually by Xbox, because he doesn't "want to burden me", especially while I'm pregnant. If I think it's me, I ask, and he tells me what's going on. Sounds intuitively stupid, but since we've started getting better at talking to each other instead of making assumptions, everything has gotten so much better.
I need to get better at reading labels! Mine are all machine washable but a lot are "hang to dry." I always tell myself to check the label before buying but then I get to the store and am all, "oooh! Those pants are nice!" The label is forgotten until it's laundry time, when I curse myself again.

Steamers release creases, for the most part. However, some pants have their crease chemically set into the fabric (which is why they're still creased when they come out of the wash/dry). Chemically set creases won't come out from the steamer, though you may want to touch them up occasionally with an iron.
I guess my ironing FFFC is that I own a steamer and an iron. I almost never use them unless the situation is dire. My first attempts are always (1) pull it out of the dryer slightly damp and hang to dry, or (2) take it into the bathroom and hang it on the far side of the tub while I shower. My iron gets used much more frequently when I'm sewing; then I press seams like a zealot. But I learned to love wrinkle free and wrinkle release for my personal clothes.

My real confession: if I'm desperate I will use my flat iron and that seems to work great!
I've been known to get wrinkles out by spraying my clothes with a water bottle, then blasting it with my hair dryer. Sometimes when they are on my body. I mean, it works to get ponytail creases out of my hair, so I figure why not?
My DH is a laundry all star. Our laundry room is next to his "man cave" so he handles the laundry while he watches sports, and then just brings some of the baskets upstairs for me to help fold while I watch Bravo. It's a good system for us. But what I didn't expect: he's awesome at it. He sorts colors meticulously, uses the delicate cycle when he can, and checks tags religiously, so he has never ever dried something that he wasn't supposed to. I love him for it.
I guess my FFFC is more of a UO - I don't think tanning beds are dangerous in general if used infrequently - I used to go about twice a month in the "winter" (I live in FL, so I'm saying I went about 4 times a year). Going to the bed all the time? Yes, I think that is dangerous and unhealthy. A handful of vanity visits in the winter whilst using SPF? Eh, not a big deal to me. I haven't been at all during my pregnancy and I just hate looking so wan.
I'm with you in the FFFC part. I tan on a regular basis when not pregnant. But not the UO part. I would never try to tell someone they aren't dangerous. I have a skin condition that is kept in check by tanning. I tan in the lowest level bed for about half the normal time (10-12 minutes in a 20 minute bed) once or twice a week. Enough to keep my skin looking healthy and not be embarrassed by it, but not enough to look like someone who tans.
As much as I hate winter, I'm kind of dreading warm weather and having to wear clothing that doesn't cover everything after over 6 months of not tanning. I will probably start up my tanning membership again immediately after this baby is born.
For me it's a risk/reward thing, and I made my choice. I also go to the dermatologist once a year, and completely strip down and have her check for unusual spots.
What's the general consensus on tanning while pregnant? I've heard risk of overheating but that seems weird to me as the beds don't get that hot (they did ten years ago, but not really now IMO). One of the tanning bed chicks used to tell me that high pressure beds and beds with shorter duration (the 8-12 minute beds) actually use less uv rays than other beds... She had some explanation (high pressure beds are less likely to burn you and tan into deeper layers of skin?) why which is lost on me now, but I've never actually seen any research on it.
Melanin is only found in one layer of the skin. Just FYI.
Yeah, "tanning bed chicks" are usually under a lot of pressure to sell upgrades and products. They'll say just about anything, but don't actually know much about the science behind it. Most of what come out of their mouths is total bullshit.

I have always told my DH that if I ever quit my profession and took a BS job it would be at a tanning bed. Those chicks are usually just chillin on their phones.

I have the Conair up-right steamer. Most steamers come with attachment pieces that you clip onto the steamer head. One of these attachments enables you to create a crease or to reinforce one that chemically set. I usually only use this attachment for the crease in my dress pants, but I have also used it on DH's collared shirts to keep them from turning into fly-aways.
I also like to take the steamer into the bedrooms every once in a while to steam the curtains and the mattress surface.
We know how ridiculous it is, but we continue to treat her like some kind of princess. And now I feel like I only have 3 more months to spoil her, so why quit early?
This...so this. We have a pomeranian who thinks he is a prince. He LOVES the spa where he gets a bath complete with deep skin conditioning treatment, hair/nail trim, massage and blueberry facial. I sometimes wish I was kidding, but I'm not. But he absolutely loves it.
He sleeps in our bed (takes up half of it), and will only drink out of his water bowl if I pour the water from the Brita pitcher. Again, wish I was kidding.
However, he LOATHES the dog park (climbs my legs and refuses to acknowledge the existence of other dogs there) and would probably die of a heart attack if we ever tried to put him in a doggie daycare. I truly believe that his thoughts are "Ew mom, I don't associate with the commoners. I mean, they don't even get facials!"
OK i have to add, my DH and i watched Sherlock over the last few weeks, and i am 100% baffled by Benedict Cumberbatch crushes. i tried and tried to figure it out, but i do not find him even remotely attractive. i told my DH how women love him and he was like "this guy?! seriously" he's baffled too.
DH has put a moratorium on baby purchases until the baby's room is finished, but the baby's room is currently his man cave and he keeps coming up with excuses for not clearing it out, and he won't let me do it because he doesn't want me digging through all his crap. Not that I'd willingly touch anything in there anyway. I value my health more than that, and I'm scared to find out what might be lurking under the piles of sweaty socks.
So confession #1 is that I'm trying to come up with ways to cause him pain without killing him or incapacitating him to the point that he can't clean his damn room. Confession #2 is that I'm still buying baby stuff, because hello, does he really think he can stop me? Pfft.

I got my dog when he was 10 weeks old in the spring of 2006, and he was my loyal companion and best friend through many major life events.
On the day that we moved into our house this past October, my dog passed away very suddenly. We never found out what he died from because it was so sudden and I couldn't take finding out what had gone wrong, mostly out of fear that it was something I had done. I have not had the heart to get rid of any of his dog toys, bed, or crate. They are sitting in the garage and it's heartbreaking every time I see them.
Sorry for the Debbie Downer moment. That was a bit more serious than I thought it would be.
My FFFC; I've been getting my nails done every other week for almost two years now. I told dh that I would stop when I got pregnant. I haven't yet. He hasn't said anything yet. I'm totally not stopping until he says something. I love my nails!!!

I have a Rowenta steamer and it has the same type of crease attachment. I don't use it often, but it does work well.
I've been meaning to steam my curtains since Fall. Maybe it will be done for Spring cleaning ...
@FlemDance- Thank you. It was totally devastating for my husband and me. We had so many exciting things that were happening at that exact moment, so we felt like we needed to focus on the positives rather than dwell in how awful it was to lose our beloved pet. With that said, we purposely bought this house because it has a half acre of fenced in back yard that Bogie would have loved.
To do: Talk to DH about getting another dog someday. LO needs a bestie.
Jenvadnais89 I actually ate it twice this week (last Saturday and today) and sadly I just don't care. There are plenty worse things I can do right

What's wrong with getting your nails done? :-/
Nothing. It was the money thing. We agreed that the money would go toward baby stuff instead of $35 on me twice a month.... He figured out the total in a year. Oh well, I need to pamper myself. And it's nice to have that time to vent. She's like my therapist! Haha
My diaper bag I plan on using is a backpack I already own. I got it from my mom a few years ago who had it for years. It is a nice brand and was originally sold as a diaper bag. The flame part: currently I use it for the dogs. All the extra pockets and pouches make it great to Cary toys, leads, treats, water and any other goodies for a day out (I have three dogs so just shoving items in my pocket does not always work) I will clean it all out and throw it through the wash so it is fine. Also any food that is put in is first in a plastic bag/container. I don't understand paying lot of money for a bag but I'm also not a purse person. Flame away.

Haha jk! I love me a good antepasto salad with Greek dressing and feta! I have one about once a month when we order from the Italian restaurant near our house
My FC is that I was a bad sitter for my friends 9 year old today. I let her watch 3 episodes of Scooby doo and play on her ipad for 30min. She's pacifically told her no TV and that she was all done with her ipad for the day as she walked out the door to go to work. In my defense after the 30min of extra ipad I had her read for 60min and she played outside for four hours today and needed some downtime when she came in so we watched tv. Oh well, it's our little secret
I'm going to murder DH if he keeps coughing. He swears its just postnatal drip (which, sure- happens to him yearly) but he's been coughing loudly like a seal bark for over a week now and refuses to take any medications to make it stop. And, because he knows its not a cold/virus that I can catch, he won't go to the doc-in-a-box either. He just keeps coughing all day, all night, barking like a goddamn seal.
It's driving me BATSHIT.
When his (nurse) sister calls tomorrow before she comes over- I'm going to beg her to bring something over the counter to make it stop- or tranq darts. He hates his sister medicating/mothering him, but I can't physically go to the store to do it myself and I can't take it anymore.

DH is also procrastinating cleaning out his stuff in the office which is now becoming the guest room and won't let me do anything because it's his stuff and g*d forbid I throw out some paper that's been in some box since 2007 that he's never looked at! I gave him a deadline because my friend is coming to visit for a few days and the guest room needs to be functional. I know he'll wait til the last minute and then pitch a fit and then just move everything to the garage or something so it can sit there untouched for another 6 years. but I don't care as long as I don't see it anymore.
@Therebedragons That totally reminds me of Kitty from Pride and Prejudice. </nerd> Also, it sounds like he has croup. Try to make him cough in a sauna, maybe the steam would help.
