nbr kitchen

We are going to be remodeling our kitchen soon, but are planning on selling in the next year or 2 so we want it to appeal to a majority of people. If it were my dream kitchen, I'd want grey gloss cabinets. But we can't go that route for selling. What color cabinets/kitchen would you choose for your dream kitchen?

  • I agree, I'd go white or a dark wood. The cabinets in our new house are white on top and a gray on bottom and I LOVE it! But that may not appeal to everyone. I swear I could spend an entire day on Pinterest or Houzz! This isn't our actual kitchen, I don't have a photo on me right now but this is similar.

Gray and white kitchen. Bottom Cabinets are painted Warm Stone by Sherwin Williams.

And I would LOVE to do this backsplash...but DH isn't sold on it...yet. I'm still working on him!

  • our old kitchen was a light wood with black appliances and a light hardwood floor...we're getting the kitchen redone at our new house and will probably go the same route

  • @jobiann dang I thought that was your actual kitchen! I was like Wow!

    I like the darker wood.
No, it's not but it's close. I'll have to take pictures once we move in! I'm still working on my DH on the back splash, he's worried it's too wild and that we will grow tired of it in a few years. I don't think I would...I think it is awesome!

  • I hate white and prefer darker. White shows dirt and no way am I wiping down all the cabinets every day. White cabinets also look cheap to me (logically I know this is not true).

All of your kitchens are beautiful! Just NMS.

  • We did a complete kitchen remodel two years ago and went with a medium dark wood.  I wanted a super dark espresso color but the designer said that for resale purposes, a medium dark is best.  It's universally appealing.  I'm actually glad I didn't go super dark because even now I hate seeing dust on mine.

  • Our downstairs (with the exception of the living room which has cathedral ceilings) is pretty dark, so I think I'd do white, although I LOVE that grey/white combo that @ jobiann posted.

We currently have a fake "pickled" white-ish oak-ish and wierd blue countertops (came with the house).  Ugh. Who picks that??  (Probably the same people who chose the burgundy shag rug in the living room that we're also stuck with for awhile).
